I think it's pretty cool to have Windows 7 OS running on MacBook.

I'm currently on Acer Aspire 9300, works fine.

I actually just had this conversation with someone to help them get a new pc for around $800 - $1,000. They of course need a full setup (monitor, keyboard, tower etc ) so they get a little less of a computer for more money. I actually suggested that, for what they need it for, to go with an azus. Its a relatively new brand but its got great reviews and they actually make most of the parts for the majority of the companies out their so its the best of many worlds in one.

I'd really suggest getting a laptop. Laptop video cards and processors are starting to level off with their desktop counter-parts,(with added portability) making it seem quite obsolete to buy a desktop rig. Heating would be the only problem and even that has been reduced.

It really depends on what you want to accomplish with it and how long you want it to last. As Ashlander suggested, give Sager and Clevo a shot, they have great, very easily customizable laptop rigs. :) Good Luck.

To clear it up, Sagers ARE Clevos, Sager is a reseller. The actual laptop are Clevos, Sager sells them to the public. Mythlogic, Malibal, and XoticPC are some others, theres quite a few. Clevo models range from around $700 for entry-level to upwards of $3000 for ones that run on desktop CPUs and chipsets, and feature dual SLI/Crossfire video cards.

Malibal is typically the cheapest of them, so you may want to go there, and Mythlogic has the best customer service, and does everything in-house (no outsourcing), as well as complimentary 72 hour burn-in, and overclocking (i remember right).

I've talked to the guys at Mythlogic quite a bit, mostly Charlie, they'll help you with anything you need, and they offer alot more then other companies, but they also cost a bit more. I'm going through them when i get mine.
