No. Paperclip doesn't do that anymore.

BUUUUUT some guys got name changes at around 1000 posts, like pantonick and aklemoo. They're now 'Tawnik' and '.Aklemo.'

They aren't going to change your name right after you get 300 posts. It'll probably seem like you post just for name changes. (I did that once too)

Nah, if I participated in so many debates and topics here, then I am obviously not posting just for a name change. I just recently noticed it and I would prefer the name that I made my signatures with.
