Anybody got this? It looks pretty awesome but I'm a tad suspicious with the lack of a PC version, any positives/negatives?

It's a fucking good game. It is exactly how an RPG should be, and even though it'll suffer the same fate as a typical Capcom game, I don't fucking care, it's good. If this game was as bad as Skyrim I would have killed myself.

I really wanna buy this game, havnt yet though since I wanna give skyrim another shot. Somehow I could not get into that game which kinda upsets me cause I somehow liked Fallout 3 and Im more a fan of Skyrims world + magic. The immersion was missing for me ( If thats the word) which F3 had with its ammo/enemies/etc.
Also Capcom made this so its stylish as hell, Ill probably get this soon anyways. Glad to hear its good ^

yeah skyrim was good for all of two hours, then you realise you'll be doing the same thing over and over again and you never enjoyed the thing you were doing that much in the first place anyway

There's a few things that might be a bit off-putting about it at first (menu music), but seriously, stick with it. And slap anybody that compares it to Skyrim or Dark Souls, because they're idiots.
The classes are all really fucking cool. Everything has badass skills, and if you decide you want to stop being a Fighter and go for a Mage, you can do it, and you won't suffer any losses. You'll still have the augment and core skills you've purchased, and if you later want to go back to being a Fighter, your skills will still be there. Your character's height/weight will effect your stamina and equipment load, and how resilient you are to being staggered by attacks or the environment. There's such attention to detail, and even at this point after release people are still uncovering the game's rarer items.
And after a certain point, the entire fucking game changes.
Pro-tip: You can give NPCs gifts to make them like you more. But make sure you find one NPC you want you arisen to fuck4lyfe and raise it's affinity first. Don't question it, just do it.

started my New Game+ today. excellent game. the combat is far beyond what most other games in the open world rpg genre could ever hope to offer. the equipment, classes, skills, party/pawn system all click together incredibly nicely. the boss fights are very memorable, and so fun to engage in. think of this as an open world rpg, but with combat more akin to something like devil may cry (tight, responsive, and stylish as hell). You can draw comparisons to Dark Souls, Skyrim, or even Monster Hunter, but in the end it's all for naught and ends up being pointless. Dragon's Dogma is a unique experience, through and through.

Ok im convinced. The skills look so much more badass compared to other games of its genre indeed from some of the videos I saw. And yea the monsters and combat from vids made me think of Monster Hunter which is good. Tho I have a bunch of games I havent even started, + a brand new Wii with no games X_X

good to hear that you're enjoying it man. and yes, DD can be tough in certain areas. It definitely requires a little more thought than your average rpg, when it comes to the combat. the thing I love so much about it is how the classes are all very different, yet are all incredibly fun to play. That, and the fact that you can switch classes just about any time you want to, to experiment with new weapons, skills, and play styles.
Have you taken on any giant monsters yet? those battles are where the combat and animations really shine.

not anything giant apart from the tutorial hydra, ogre and lion/goat/snake thing, i've had a load of situations where i've just had to abandon everything and run even against little enemies so i don't know how i'm going to be against a really good giant enemy lol. also climbing ontop of that ogre thing in the tutorial really felt like SoTC, it was excellent
how do you change classes? i heard that switching is really easy but i can't figure out how to do it, probably in a tutorial message i skipped, i've googled it but to no avail @2-d

you can change yours and your main pawn's vocation (class) as soon as you get to Gran Soren (the capital city). just go to the inn there.
