The first Skyrim DLC is finally here!

It will be available for download this summer!

I can't tell you how excited I'm for this, since TES is probably my favorite game series of all time and I have burned most of my time gaming this year to Skyrim.

The trailer features a new type of vampire, a vampire lord which Bethesda created during their Skyrim game jam. The new type of vampire has unique spells and can summon minions, feed in combat and all other kinds of sick stuff. The opposing faction is the Dawnguard which are some type of vampire slayers. And what do vampire slayers use? Thats right, crossbows.

So what are your thoughts on the trailer and do you think it will be as good as their past DLC like shivering isles? Will you buy it?

I sure know I will.

Skyrim: Content that should have been in the release that we showed we did in a week a couple of months after release.

It looks alright, but I don't really care about it. I mean, the game has a massive modding community, so there's always a bunch of content to be added. Maybe the Dawnguard has a questline that doesn't involve BETRAYEL and is over in 5 minutes, then it might save the game.

They already said it's 10-20 extra hours. on top of the main game's 300 hours. also, they never showed dawngaurd (all it's extra quests) were done in the game jam, it was just the vampire model and animations and mechanics of playing as a vampire lord or w/e the winged beast is. that's not quite the same. it's alot more than just the mechanics of being a vampire.

next order of bussiness: why the fuck would you want the questline to end in five minutes? are you seriously that attention lacking? The game isn't just about winning you know, it's about carving your own story through the world.

Also, only 20% or so of the quests end in betrayal. mostly big side quests, but only half or less of those even. it is a noticeable repetition, but atleast it's not as often as in new vegas (obsidian made this, i know, but there was way more "Oh help my gf from lizards, jk there's loot up thar etc".

... Yeah. If you play on Xbox. Unfortunately it's probably releasing a week later for PC.

It's microsoft, they pay big money for dlc to be timed exclusive. even bethesda can't resist a couple million dollars that only requires them to put the dlc out on xbox a month ahead.

I'd never buy a console unless it had an actual os (those linux based handhelds looked really nice a few years ago, but i heard it limited compatibility with the sparse games on linux even further by needing special drivers since it didn't have a real keyboard or mouse, thus...), and took keyboard and mouse. all the games i play/enjoy are loads easier on pc, generic shootan fps and whatnot, even third person adventure games are easier and more responsive on pc (when ported right) see how much smoother re5 plays compared to re4 on pc, because the porting on re4 was ass backwards and you need a third party patch just to use the mouse to aim. I'm getting off topic, but i find it funny how microsoft is trying to push people away from the open pc platform (where they only sell the os, and branding on some mice) to the console hardware market with tactics like this. probably because the xbox 360, despite all it's outdated hardware, terrible controls for most games (sans fighters and 2d button mashers) and overall daunting lack of backwards compatibility. I can still play mohaa on my pc, but i can't play the xbox mohaa disc in an xbox360? what the fuck is this shit, even nintendo does backwards compatibility better. the wii and by extension the wii u still play all gamecube games. why limit it? greed. make them buy their xbox games again as "classics" via the xbla store. why use controllers when keyboard and mouse provide far more accuracy and memorable control sets? (hint: it's because greed. unwilling to inovate a keyboard and mouse style control setup that you can hold, like a lap board) why charge money each month for online gameplay, a service that the customer already pays for to recieve the internet via dsl/cable/fios/etc, when others only require the internet, not a monthly sum to play the games you (over)paid for, on the internet you paid for, with your own friends? Not to mention, most people have gone through one to five RROD's, which the company sells another xbox if you're past warranty (like most were). it gooses the statistics, I'm really going off tangent here, but why doesn't microsoft make a mediacenter pc that plays games if they really want to get into the hardware market. or just, you know, a pc. answer: because they can't do that without getting into a legal issue with monopolies. they could do it now, since apple is booming, but instead of waiting and developing, they push out consoles. consoles that add pain to the fire, they hurt their legitimate software sales in order to boost their console hardware sales. It's fucking retarded. video games would be MUCH further if there was more innovation in the last seven years. now we're approaching another pc renascence like we had in 04, thanks to games like skyrim and arma 2 selling fucktons thanks to mods and good core gameplay, battlefield 3 is a testament to possibilities, but it's still not were we could have been if microsoft had stuck to software.
