Ok so my dad had a graphics pad and never used it. He gave it to me the other day and i try animating with it but it takes me longer to draw but looks the same. Is the graphics pad only meant for particle effects and stuff like that? Like... whats this pad suppost to being helping? Does it just increase the general look of all my creations, or is it to help with my speed?
Btw... HURRAY A FREE GRAPHICS PAD! Man i got lucky my dad used one a couple years back. (This is really good to because i'm pretty poor and would have never got one on my own :o)

The graphics pad is Wacom... and it always says graphire.4 on it. Hope that gives people an idea of wut i have.

Lucky! :D. (I mean getting a tablet for free.)

It helps you with particles and draw things more easier.
It's kinda hard to use for first timers, but it's very easy when you get used to it.
GT's are use is many ways, like for businesses signing stuff and uhh.. idk stuff. You can pretty much use it in anything ex. use it as a mouse. (Except for some games.)
Well, it does help you make things faster.. I guess. Also it does increase the general look of your creations/drawings that you made.

Enjoy your tablet! :D

after some getting used to, a graphics tablet is just as easy to use as a pen and paper. practice with it a bit and you'll soon find it much easier and faster to get better results with.

I don't have a graphics pad, but I have used one, and personally, it doesn't do much in terms of improving art OR animations. With the same amount of practice, over the same amount of time, you can make things that look much better than tablet users just with a mouse. It's an unnecessary accessory to me, and i wouldnt buy one, but if you got one for free, then by all means, use it to the best of your ability.

if you only want to animate stickfigures. We naturally use a pen to draw, we get use to tablet faster than using a mouse
You can do suff much more faster with a tablet and in animation thats a big point also you get control of the pressure options
