I do that very often, even with small .fla's. Sometimes even by mistake lol

It does affect the .swf file, I'm 99% sure.
Also, indeed, deleting sounds you don't use really helps. Also breaking apart your text kills some bytes.

am almost done, just rapping up things now, all i need is to reduce the file size

hmm this is what i did, go to libary, and look for any songs/sounds that last 10 and up, right-click it, go to export settings. and uncheck "use imported mp3 quality"

they are mostlly songs though drift
