I'm a real big fan. I love how complex the story is and how each game gives you individual fragments of the story that you have to peace together. Only thing I dislike is how many games are scattered among different systems... KH 1 and 2 and RE: CHain of memeories for ps2, chain of memories for gameboy advance, Birth by sleep for PSP, 358/2 days and re:coded for DS, coded for mobile, and now Dream Drop Distance for 3DS, which I don't have. ANyone else upse tthat they have to go out and buy an expensive console for one game? Discuss

I'm not a huge fan of KH, mainly because of the involvement of disney characters, that ruined the game for me.

I'm actually a fan of the series. originally, it was the Final Fantasy cameos and references that pulled me in, but the game stands well on it's own merits. I've have the original, chain of memories (both versions), 2, and birth by sleep. they always have fun combat systems, although a bit mindless and button mashy. the plot is very convoluted, and 90% of the disney worlds are simply filler. I love old school disney animation, and a lot of the moments in KH are very reminiscent of that. so overall, I like the series but it has some flaws holding it back from being truly great for me.

I played through the first and second ones, but then I gave up on the series because I was totally lost in the story.

And then later I played 358/2 days all the way through 100% in like a week (didnt even bother paying attention to the story, the game just looked really cool).

This game is too cheesy.
I refuse to play it.

If you're complaining about the complexity of the story, then you're too dumb to follow the story line, or couldn't care enough to follow it. That's that in my opinion. The first game was the worst one in my opinion and you really didn't get the full KH experience so don't stop with just the first one!

Ok now your making all kh players seem like dicks.
The story is really complex, yes, but that is what most players love about it. Albeit most of these player are fangirl yaoi artist, but I digress. You don't have to be smart to like the story, I'm down right fucking stupid but I understand it. Yeah, it's incredibly cheesy, but I got into the game when I was young, like 4, that was around the time I first played final fantasy. I was completely blown away from the game, and was instantly hooked. I love the story, I love any complex story.


It gives new ideas of where the plot is going, and surprises me. Every day I'm learning new thing about this game. To this date I have played almost every Kingdom Hearts game besides coded because it filler and I don't feel like buying a 3ds when I can look at it on YouTube, birth by sleep being my favorite due to the multi player functions. KH2 comes to a close second to KH1. KH2 has awesome new game play and such, drives, summons and abilities.


while KH1 just feels nostalgic, magical even. I played it at such a young age that it just reminds me when I didn't have a care in the world, and that comforts me when I play. Most people don't like Kingdom Hearts due to people hating Disney for some reason, which is total bullshit. Alot of people do like it for Disney/ff/fuckingfangirls. although i can relate to how scattered the game is. I wish that someday, when the series is over that they make an hd collection like with streetfighter or dbz. Most of the games that were released were on systems that I had already owned. The only time I ever had to buy a system for a game was for 365/2.

Overall, KingdomHearts is an amazing game. Incredibly magical, given my circumstances, very fun and just awesome to me. If you don't like the game, I don't see why you clicked on this thread. Anyway, can't wait for future games.

Although Skiller, you should understand that despite the seemingly obvious stinger in the end, KH1 was never created with the intention of a sequel in mind. At the time. So the "worse story" was actually the thesis of the saga.

Agreed with mizu to an extent. Just admit it guys, most of you got into KH in the first place because you wanted to whack some disney villains silly, and meet your favorite FF characters to boot. It was a solid marketing campaign by Squeenix and you guys (including me) fell for it. Then they started branching and becoming original. Suddenly the FF-ness became a footnote and the Disney worlds just latched on in a desperate attempt to say "Hey, we're still like the first game," And that's what killed it for me. And probably our childhood love for this game.

well, i never really bought the game myself, it was my father who bought it for me. before then i never knew it existed. i wouldnt say my love for the game is dead, its still very strong.

I've seen people play through most of the games and came to the conclusion that I myself don't want to play it.
If I play a game anyways and hate it then it would be retarded for me to say I won't play it because I already played it.
