Discuss anything and everything minecraft based.

Okay, you got me. The real reason I made this thread is because I am in a bit of a predicament.
See, I started this completely ridiculous mining operation after I dug my way into the thick sand next to a river. I knew it was only a matter of time before I dug into something and eventually my fears became reality and I stumbled into this.

What should I do?
I've been tunneling downwards layer by layer, should I keep doing that and eventually overtake the dungeon?
Or should I go in and try to clean the dungeon out, with no way of knowing how deep or what is inside?
Discuss.

You should probably figure out what kind of spawner is in there. If it's cave spiders, get the fuck out of there. If it's anything else, just dig under the spawner and break it with your pickaxe, or use it as an xp/items factory thing.

Put torches on all four sides of the spawner, that neutralizes it. Then turn it into an EXP/item grinder for bonus points

Cave spiders are like mini-Satans. They can crawl up walls, and are less than one block wide so they can fit through any opening.
Also they're poisonous. What the fuck, Mojang

I know right? And they'll chase your fucking ass too, forever.

I'm hoping the dungeons got lots of lave.
I've always dreamed of sleeping beneath a lave fountain.

Thanks for the pro tip.

I'll keep you guys updated on what goes on as I enter the dungeon

You can also cover the outside of it in glass to have a really cool monster spawner zoo thing going on.

I actually set up a trap for cave spiders once by making a 1x1 opening in the ceiling and making a column of fence blocks in the middle, they can climb up and you can hit them, but they can't get through.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm scared guys. I've always been a lover not a fighter when it comes to minecraft.

Left or right guys?
Someone flip a coin. Tails is left Head is right.

UPDATE:
I got tails
WOAH (Click to Show)

Turns out that left leads off around into the back area revealing a third path that I hadn't known existed, it would appear that right is my only option..
With the exception of a route that leads off in the left direction, but I want to take it slow.

UPDATE:
I checked every last route...the place is empty....completely...

try using the custom seed value "GLACIER", the landscape is crazy and there are a ton of underground areas to explore

My style of mining is when i make stairs deep underground and i wait till i reach bedrock to make tunnels, i mine like that just not to go to caves and keep killing mobs and waste my sword, I Call it pussy style.

Dude why would you use such a horribly inefficient way of mining? Just find a cavern and explore it, that's 1000 times better for finding ores.
