Hey guys, I have never really used a forum before and I have no experience in animation
but it is something I have a great interest in so if you have any pointers or advice and links
to help me get started, post them here or inbox me and it will be greatly appreciated ^_^.

Well the forums part is easy...go around the forums find threads you like and post in them, or you might like the whole section too...Either way just dont get hurt if there is some flaming involved... So have fun in the forums and the animating part you can down load the software in the help section (im not 100% sure on that) and you have to play with it your self and we can help you with what you post

Now, I like you instantly because:

1. You know that you are currently a n00b. (Unlike most)

2. You want help so your not a n00b. (Also unlike most)

We were all n00bs once. Including me...

Your getting started, you'll want to look at these: http://forums.stickpage.com/forumdisplay.php?17-Help

Those tutorials will cover pretty much anything you can think of, Pivot, Flash or Easytoon.

Just start practising, make some friends, maybe an RHG (Rock Hard Gladiator). And before you know it, you'll be an amazing animator!

yea or you suld start whit pivot animation 4.1 is a start dude
