Whenever I see a new rhgs in the forums I often find that most of them share common things and this happens a lot.
Most rhgs are/have
fire/dark powers
a uncontrollable demon inside them that only comes out when they are nearly dead
a death/rage mode which makes them all powerful and uncontrollable when nearly dead
in the story the rhg is an orphan
The rhg's weakness is "he is only human" or "he has human weaknesses"
the rhg is joining because he/she is looking for someone or is getting revenge
a sword
a special ability which lets them teleport or "blink"
in their story the rhg and family has been attacked by an organisation or someone and only the rhg survives
Can make there body into anything
Tentacles
Scythes
A repeating theme in rhg

I know, these are sort of irritating. Especially when everyone does the whole "dark and edgy" thing. I spent ages trying to make a guy to avoid that sort of thing. He can explode, and his body parts fly back on. Creative and fun to animate. I went through four rhgs on fluidanims when I was really noobish and thought dark powers were cool. Glad to say none used a sword. Swords are the most overdone weapon.

Hmmmm.. well the only thing i agree there is the sword part, but oh well lol swords are great, what i hate is '' Human weakness '' I mean cmon, get creative :l

I started the opposite. I started with original then went to dark and edgy (but still original) because I'm Veir and I'm a god.

That means I defeated a god 2 years ago.
A sword is a very basic weapon, where you just swing it like a stick with your stick figure. If you compare it to guns or bows, which require some effects or more animating, a sword is definitely an easier option to choose.

there are a lot of RHG characters out there who are actually original like FLLFFL, Yoyo, Oxob, and Andre this are the RHG characters that have original stories plus abilities. I mean like check out Oxob he has like steel fists or Yoyo's generator charged yoyo and now that I saw this post I might have to re-think about my RHG.

Lol, I succeeded to avoid all these things :D (except for the sword thing, because my character can create weapons, and that includes swords)

In my opinion I have a quite original RHG. But now that you have listed the unoriginalities, understand that an original rhg might be extremely boring to animate.

why are you looking for originality in stick figure animations
kids dont want to come up with their own powers, they just want to reanimate what they just saw in naruto

I have an RHG (or had... I still haven't updated it for Stickpage...) that uses a fountain pen which turns into a sword. I'd like to say that it's actually my own original idea without influence from other animators. Does that make me or my RHG annoying?
Just sayin'.

well, I would add also the fact that many rhgs use scarfs
in the end, if you think about it, many ideas come from the more famous RHGs (Scarf=Nhazul)(Electricity=Andre/Drifts)(Sword=Alfa/Jomm)
for things like dark energy and stuff, I agree with 2-D: too much Naruto, One piece and Dragon Ball
I too had in the first years quite an unoriginal RHG, but then I had the revelation to add the beer factor and BOOM, there I had it (btw, he's a pure brawler (no shitty martial arts), don't think he's unoriginal :))

I got a scarf becuase it makes my animations look more... smoother? anyway, there fun to animate hehe

Quote from Scara sword is definitely an easier option to choose.
Fuck that. That's part of the reason why I changed my last rhg. Electricity and a sword was too familiar because a bunch of people already had it. But show me someone who has dual scythes and NO demonic powers or "super anime power up time near death comeback mechanic" or my absolute favorite "human weaknesses". God I hate that.Scythes for the win! teehee

Grim the only reason we use that is because many of the RHG's are human.Unless you want them to be super human, demons and shit, which you hate.I get your point but unoriginal things are needed to be said,so "human weaknesses" stays (unless your a demon or something).

Referencing my RHG my answers would be no,no,no,no,no,no,yes, kind of, no.
So mines not too generic then, but is it true that those traits are seen alot, along with human weaknesses (because most RHG's are human in some way).
