Replace the stone[in your inventory] with the can of baked beans cuz it will serve as a good long ranged weapon and when you feel hungry, you can enjoy the beans and pick up a replacement stone[which might be pretty easy to find considering you are still in the forest]

Take the loaf of bread and drop the sign, seems like the food is the most usefull item in a place like the forest.

I think it might be a good idea to bring the giant can of whoopass with us. It can replace the sign. Melee weapons are no good in the hands of an 8-year-old.

When you look for the pants with pockets, also look for a backpack or bag of some sort.
