If I'm remembering this correctly, my very first game was when I was 3 years old. Arcanoid, on the pc. Played it and managed to get 7th on the top 10 leaderboard that was dominated by my father (though he did manage to remove it after a while :( ). I still like that game.

The first one I really remember: Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES. I remember that when I had to make really long jumps in Lost Levels (one of the 4 games included), I would throw the controller (and myself) 3 foot to the right while I pressed the 'jump' button. Needless to say, this rarely worked.
Then I learned about the 'run' button.
