It's not so much selfishness as it is cowardice.
A way of running from problems, as opposed to facing them regardless of how hard it may be. There's always someone who has been through worse than you have and has gotten out alive, there's really no justified excuse to take your own life.
Exactly that.
It's a selfish act, but it's a cowards act at the same time.
There will always be somebody in a worse situation.
Maybe they're just messed up in the head though. In that case, it's for the best.
I had this debate with a friend of mine, because i was taking the piss out of some girl who hung herself with a tie. In before; BRB Blk parade, etc.
He thought it was wrong, i told him it was all jokes.
She killed herself just because of something she thought was true. She wasn't bullied, she was just a ****ing emo.
Her mother brought her up all those years, cared for her, just for her to kill herself?
Selfish.
Unless you literally can't live with yourself and what you are, then it's an act of a fool.
I must say, though, it's a difficult thing to take your own life. It's cowardly, but to just erase yourself from existence really isn't that easy.
