If its a crazy person commits suidcide, its not selfish? Are you saying no one was in his/her life at all? It doesn't make a differnece whether they were "crazy" or not.

No, I'm not saying that there was no one in their life. I'm saying that they didn't realize what they were doing and didn't understand the effects on the people around them, or on themselves.
Anyway
The lady that we are talking about was selfish, she had responsibilities and she just dumped them on her ...Daughter or Son?..... without even caring about what might happen to them. She was selfish, in my opinion.

As you can plainly see, I don't belong to a religion.
If a crazy person commits suicide, it's not as much of a big deal, because they really didn't know what they were doing, or if they did they didn't know the consequences. If someone is in their right of mind, then it is selfish. They are taking happiness away from the ones that care about them and making the world around unhappy. THAT way is selfish.
I may not have made myself clear, even at an atheist stand point, or any outlook where you don't believe in life after death, what i meant was that the person is so depressed they see no other way to get over it, so rather then try to get happy they end their sadness with death. thus they are at piece and not sad anymore. it's selfish, but it doesn't matter their intentions were not to take from others, that's just how it works out.

That's a pretty selfish way of thinking about it. Don't know if you noticed, but not everyone in the world is an atheist like you. so not everyone believes in your "profound facts" about there being no afterlife.
Can you do me a favor? How about not bringing religion into a debate about suicide. It does nothing to promote your side of the argument.

Good idea, I'll try that....
And sorry for my earlier ignorance, I am only 12.

Actually, suicide and religion are very much related. If one has the promise of an afterlife, suicide can be more attractive than for one who doesn't think there's an afterlife. This effects one's decision on whether suicide is a viable option to end their suffering. Of course, for some people the idea of an afterlife will prevent them from suicide.
Either way, it's definately a deciding factor.
More on point with the thread, since the thread is supposed to be about whether suicide is selfish, one might consider that there could be dead relatives in the afterlife that are eagerly awaiting the time when their family escapes their earthly bounds.
Say that a really depressed person with no living friends or relatives commits suicide. It can be seen as a form of altruistic behavior, since the person is allowing themselves to be seen by old friends and family members again.

Somebody said that there is always someone who has had it worse than you.
I find that person to be a liar. I don't think anyone has had it worse than me.
Nevertheless survive.

Lies, and you know it. There is no problem that is worse than the greatest problem.

Okay, so let's say your story really did happen.
Just because your friends died, means you have it the worse?
Out of everyone?
In the entire world?
Bitch please.

Ignoring my life now.
You cannot have something ALWAYS be worse than something else, simply becaue there has to be something that is the worst. There also cannot be a "tie" in worse-ness.[not sure if it is a real word]
Nothing can ALWAYS have a better. something must be the best.
