Hey people, me and a friend have started to make music and we plan on releasing our songs regularly,
Do you think this techno and guitar sound is a good approach and if so should we try and do something like this again? Our other scheduled songs aren't like this and we were thinking maybe we should make more things like this first release.

The songwriting and production are both way too simple for how repetitive the song is. The sections before and after the silence don't really fit together.
Don't let your guitarist do any more solos either, nothing he did made any sense with the rest of the track. Solos should fit with the song, they're not an excuse to show off your chops, especially when you're not that technically skilled in the first place.

Despite all of this (which is true), I personally think it was a little bit catchy.

The guitar really killed all of the tranquil mood the beginning had. I thought it was going to be so badass. The guitar was nothing crazy or nice through out at all. All of it was just too generic. Sorry but this song sounds nothing more like amateur work. Also, the hihat riff sounds like a synth preset...
There are also so many other aspects and instruments you're also missing that would fill this songs emptiness. Like a kick.

Thanks for the feedback, we will definitely work on those things for when we do another tune like this.

In our other songs (one has just released on our channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52XwbNIFzlQ) he barely does any solos, but for the record he is technically skilled, he just didn't bother retrying after the first take and it was literally random shredding all over the place.
