What are some 2d animation programs to use other than flash, if I were persuing full body? Ignore thread name , changed my mind on question.
Original question was regarding what tool to use for fullbody animation. (in flash) A concern for me was that I would draw a line with the brush tool and it would randomly get larger in some places..
You may answer either or both of these questions. :)
Thank you.
Tablet to flash

have you tried to go to properties?
there is a option there that make you be able to change the smoothing of the brush, the higher the smoothing, the more smooth it will be

If you're going to try full body. I'd recommend to put your brush smoothness to 0 (if you don't have a shaky hand) and... Yes definitely use brush

set smooth to 25~ and put view mode on fast
this prevents the wonky lines from the brush tool.
no matter how steady your hand is, 0 smoothing will give you shitty line work
and if you want to go strictly animation, go toon boom.
flash doesn't have the great features or the lightweight flow that toon boom does

I am not "trying' fullbody. I am doing fullbody.....I hate that word, "try". I tried it maybe 3 years ago and haven't animated a stick figure since.
Toonboom looks okay but I want a 2d animation feel with it and everytime i see a video on toonboom it looks like a 2d3d hybrid....
Thanks for the smoothness setting max.

i'm in a different boat. i'm a full-body animator, and i'm "trying" the stick figure thing now. seems like good timing practice.

that's because people are obsessed with toon boom's 3d camera tool. if you stay away from it it's just like flash.
the only thing keeping me from jumping to toon boom is that i script a lot of effects in flash like candle flickers and snow/rain etc

i never saw the point in animating stick
Figures, i've learned more from animating fullbodies then i think I ever could from sticks. Also I'll have a good demoreel before I even get my diploma.
I hope you learn a lot from your studies :) i need to learn patience the most.
