Um I have changed characters recently. The way I did it was have them be in the same story. Pupas was Steam's Student so it was as simple as putting Steam going away in the demo and Pupas battling someone else. So I guss what I am saying is weav them into the same story.

There's nothing much to it, really. You have the two extremes:
Do you want it to be a continuation from your previous character's story? Then find a way to tie that new character into the world.
Do you want it to be a totally independent character? Then find a new setting to bring them in.

When I changed my character, for instance, I killed him off and made it flow with story all the way towards a different angle. The only thing that tied them together was the existence of a character they both interacted with. And I did it that way because I still wanted the story I was telling to continue, but I just didn't want it to be through my first character anymore.

Ultimately, I wouldn't say there's any real advice to give other than "Think about it and figure out what would make the best story", because both options (and anything in between) are valid, Ignus

I think I'll integrate my new wRHG into my over-arching narrative. Both of the characters I've had, Levi and Riley, are fighting against this evil group known as the Precursors who threaten the world in the future, and have come back to the present to try and ensure their rise to power in the future.

I'll probably stray from the path a little and have him not be actively engaged with them, more likely just trying to help Riley and Levi to hide from them. Again, thanks man.

I'll think it over some more then probably ask for some more advice.

Stories? Start a thread in the Writer's Lounge.
If that is your plan for a wRHG tournament, that's not going to cut it. Plus the fact that we don't have enough people for us to enter "entries" and 16 are picked from there.

We've had tournaments in the past, the first one, hosted by Hewitt, I believe managed to get wrapped up, but don't quote me on that because I wasn't around back then and all I've had is a minor glimpse. The second one fell apart because people didn't follow through with it. In this case, however, the pool of candidates to draw from remains minimal. Haru's right when he says you won't manage a 16 person tournament for the life of you in here because there's almost never such an amount of writers active at the same time. You got a lot of lurkers here but I doubt they can be arsed to compete in a tourney.

If I remember correctly, there was a person who started up a RHG tournament, but either it died behind the scenes or it wasn't carried out.

Huh. Come to think of it, I don't think there's been a themeless tournament. HH did just kinda die though, so if you want a decent amount of people, you may want to wait a minute before you set something up. When things crash and burn people get a bit of a bad taste in their mouths.

As far as prizes go though, that's normally not something that really happens, since it would come out of our own pocket. Only things I can really see are if

A) Someone was really good at a thing and offered said thing to winner or

B) Winner got something to be cannon, like, just the fact that their RHG was the champion, or something
