Hi guys, I recently purchased a new computer with money from my birthday, it has Windows 8 installed...and to say the late, I hate it already, and I want to get rid of it.
Does anybody know how?

XP-Good
Vista-Bad
7-Good
8-Bad
anyone else seeing the pattern?

I think you should re-install windows 7.
That might cancel out 8

I wouldn't recommend doing this kind of thing yourself, as my dad's computer broke all together when he tried to remove Windows 8.
Take it to somebody who knows how to do it, and let them do it, or the place you brought the computer from and ask them if they know how.
If that's not the case, repackage the computer, take it back to who sold it to you and ask for the money back, and buy a computer with Windows 7 installed on it.

Doing a downgrade to Windows 7 could be a little confusing if you've never done it before. Same goes for doing a clean install of Windows 7, on a computer that came installed with 8. (Getting all of the drivers to work properly can be tricky sometimes.)

My mom recently got a new laptop with Windows 8, and I also don't really care for its new UI changes.

As a quick fix for her, I downloaded Classic Shell. It can tweak a lot of features. Such as disabling those annoying hot-corners, and giving you a list of the old versions Start Menus to choose from.

It still seems to do random annoying things to her, but instead of doing hours of backup, installation and driver searching, I spent 10 minutes getting rid of the problems she was concerned about.

edit: windows 8 performance is wayy faster than 7. So i'd say keep 8 and just install Classic Shell...unless you REALLY hate it

idk. That actually sounds really complex to me. I don't know about uninstalling it but It seems like Xero's idea is good.

This worries me. I'm getting a new computer AND I DONT WANT WINDOWS 8 ;A;

How about this, why don't you just install a Windows 7 Theme for Windows 8, that would be a lot fucking easier.

Or just use that Classic Shell. Another thing is to install something from Stardock, I'm sure some of their applications can come in handy...

it goes back further than that, 98 was good and then NT was terrible before XP. my suspicion is that they release a shitty OS, and then follow up with a different refined OS which is basically the same thing without all the problems everyone complained about.

that is to say, they are basically selling the one OS twice; once while it's still in beta...
