Hi all,

I would like to discuss about this:
People upload alot of animations to any site, and show it on stickpage forums, or portals, either youtube, deviant art or whatever. Usually if it doesn't have a preloader it means its no big project, so they might want criticizes. Altough I see tons of comments like MAJORFAIL, SUCKSUCKSUCKSCUCKSUCK, etc. You know what I mean.
But I think those contributors of animations would like to read criticizes, and nothing in the subject of offensive words, deeds and do's.
What is your opinion about this?
Just answer with Yes, I agree (or something like that) or No, I do not agree .

Well, look, you are new, you make an animation. Then you post it on the portal, to see what people think of your animation.
Then someone calls you names or something, or telling you: MEGA FAIL. I don't think that is right since you are just hoping to get better, and could use some advice.

Look man, it all depends on the criticizer. If they a dick then they'd comment somethin stupid and useless sayin, "u suck! add moar easing. u fail". That shit don't help, you think every noob knows what easing is? I doubt it.

Good advice comes from helpful people. It doesn't matter whether they can animate or not.

Oh, yeah, I totally agree.
It seems only the newer comers seem to flame the newbs, trying to look big.
If it really does look effortless, then say whatever.
But, if somebody tries to make a good animation and just gets told "It's shit." then yeah, maybe it isn't great. But they deserve crit' as much as the next guy.

I see crit as; The harsher, the better. If you're told you're really bad at one thing, and how to improve it. Then it helps alot more.

This is a poor forum, on behalf of some of the members. Thankfully, it's leveled out by the good members that have a sense of humor and doesn't allow they're dick to curl up inside them when somebody says something wrong.


As Raffi said, it's all down to effort.
The more effort you put into it, the more help you can get from members who respect that sort of thing.

But thats just the problem! Alot of people expect newbs to understand EVERYTHING, I animate for 2 years and barely can do any easing. But thats why criticizes shouldnt include insults!

The bolded parts are truthnesses.
If you aren't harsh, the people who made the anim will be like "He doesn't seem serious, I'll carry on" and don't improve and get flamed later on.

Besides, this is a poor forum, but it's alive because of the members who crit. Otherwise, this site would just be about politics, books, etc, and PoliticsPagePortal just doen't have a ring to it. Neither does BookPagePortal.

And the effort thing is most important. Mentioned already.


Oh, and when critting, NEVER use smilies, unless you're saying something like "That was pretty good :]"

As for the first point, that's what's been happening the most lately.

If you've been animating for two years and can't use easing, I can understand why people insult you in their criticism...

I'm sorry, but you don't seem to understand that critiscm by defintition is stuff that can help you, what you're complaining about is flaming.

And in response to the title, noob animations don't exist, but newb animations HAVE to exist...
