Soldiers have the freedom to kill in a war. Police have the freedom to kill in certain situations. Some governments still use the death penalty.
I don't think you understand the question. He's asking whether or not is it morally right to take a life in certain situations.
I don't see why not.

I don't think I'm able to debate here; but I'll give my opinion anyway. According to my Christian beliefs, only god gives life and only him can take it. Unless he wants us by a commandment to take others' life. Even like that we're allowed to kill only and only if is strictly necessary, like a war, where we defend our home and family.
In other cases, I don't think that anyone has the right to kill.

Well, camila, you see War isnt supposed to happen. You shouldnt kill FULL STOP
I am Agnostic so I think that killing is not so bad because no matter if you get murdered or you die of old age YOU ARE GOING TO DIE. I do beleive in God 96% so were are all going to meet the same fate.
What I dont agree with is killing in cold blood

I was raised christian, and I've learned that you can't always look at it religiously, especially when religion is most of the time baseless.
You'd have to go through impossible lengths to prove that your god exists before basing your statements off a book written by men.

Well...why?
The way I see it, killing is a tool used for the survival game set up a millenia back; before mankind became the supreme rulers of the animal kingdom we are today, we had to survive.
The world was one big hunger games, one for all.
We HAD to kill for our own survival; Not just animals, we've killed our own to survive.
Now don't confuse killing with murder. Murder is taking a life without a justified reason.
killing is just taking a life.
It shouldn't be taken lightly, but we have this ability to spill blood, and we've used it for as long as humankind walked the earth.
It's not going to change, not anytime soon, most likely never.

It does matter if someone gets killed, because god has plans for our life, with plans I mean to Lear thing in this earth and progress intellectual and espiritually, by killing others we're ruining those "achievments"
If you believe in god, you should at least have heard I the 10 commandments, there one that says to DON'T kill.
Edit: xero that's why I said that I'm not able to debate here, my opinion is what I think about this cases, and I'll not change my mind.
Unless you want me to tell yo the whole story of my life, I can't show you a paper signed by the president that proofs god's existence. I believe in him only by faith and personal experinces. That's why I was just giving my opinion.

You say it as if there aren't people who deserve to die in this world.
What of the killings that pass as completely justified?
If someone slaughtered a household consciously, and was captured; Wouldn't it be the right thing to end his life? What "achievement" has that been?

As I said, we have NO rights to take someone's life, even if 99.9999999% of the people living in this earth thinks so. All of the sins committed here will be paid in the most fair way possible, this life is just the beginning of a looong eternity that will eventually come for all of us. I don't know if you have heard about the final judgement, but there's where all the people that "diserved to die" according to our opinions, will pay for what they did with huge taxes; but is NOT our job to judge them.
And with achievments I mean for the things that we learn in this life, don't think that when we die we will just to to the heaven and live happy forever. Everything that we learn here will be usefull for the next "life" that we will have after die here.

Matthew 5:44 Love your enemies. Well for you non-believers this is just words said by some dude. But for us Christian it is a way to achieve peace and salvation even though this is really hard to do for us selfish human race but still should done. Killing is wrong, because killing would cause more killing, and more killing would cause innocent lives to be taken away. Even though people still kill people in this very day, but the right to kill should never exist! This could cause the world to be more violent and be thrown into chaotic violence everywhere, and every street that you see today could be covered with blood. I don't wanna smell death in early morning!

I think as a human in general (why the fuck did you have to drag religion in this?) it's wrong to kill another human or undeserving creature with emotion without a justified and logical reason...
Cases like defending your country from invaders or aggressors, trying to protect yourself from a threatening person, or if someone kills someone extremely close to you like a family member or a close friend...
Even if justified killing is still a horrible act committed against humanity...

Basically no. According to my religion Islam, the only time you may kill is even during war is when being assaulted by someone trying to kill you. There are other situations for example somebody that tried to take the life of somebody close to you and you save them by killing the attacker, at this point one is forgiven for his actions, or in situations were the killer is mentally ill. Besides that even murderers shouldn't be assaulted and killed, you let who ever is in charge in this situation the goverment to take action.

Well way to give the rest of us "godless heathens" a good name. It's not your place to determine whether or not other people should have their lives ended.
