Personally I'm an earbuds guy. Right now I have the old apple ones, but if you've ever seen the marshmallow earbuds (the ones that have the squishy tips and mold into your ear) then those are the way to go. Cheap, portable, comfortable. And my laptop's built-in mic serves me just fine; I don't use voice chat enough for sound quality be huge enough an issue to pay a bunch of money for, much less make me switch from buds to muffs to get something closer to my face.

Siberia V2's

I wanted a "good" pair for a while (i.e. something designed for studio music, maybe Sennheiser or something), but my music production thing was only a phase, and I don't think it's worth it for casual gaming, and I don't listen to music enough to justify it. That may change in the future, maybe when I start earning some money :')

I was looking for a relatively inexpensive headset for skyping, gaming, etc., but it needed to be wireless. I first got a pair of Turtle Beach X32s, and legitimately they were solid and sounded great, but they were ultimately misleading pieces of shit because they weren't truly wireless. They were only "wireless" on the 360, and only as wireless as your game controller was. For the PC, you needed to buy an extra cable (they don't ship to Canada, so I couldn't buy it if I wanted) and it was tether to your PC, not wireless.

I took them back and went for a standard PC headset from Logitech, the h600s for $79:

They are dead simple to get working, a simple tiny USB dongle plugs in and that's pretty much it. They feel a lot more plasticy than the Turtle Beach set, but not enough so that they feel cheap to me. They have no noticeable lag like some bluetooth headsets, and can be adjusted to your liking. I personally prefer these much more than the Turtle Beach ones, I don't like the headphone designs that cover your whole ear with that muff shit. These fit comfortably and are really sturdy. Not having wires means I can go piss with them on and not miss my music.

I put up a plastic hook on my wall to hold them, so they're always in reach.

i have this and luv this <3 ,this is my only headphone

It's ok if you bought these for the fashion appeal. But otherwise honestly you wasted your money (if you were looking for sound quality). Beats Solos are probably the most hated in the beats line ($200 and sound like $20 sony headphones). Otherwise they are nice looking headphones, I must admit this. And it you love them, that's fine then.

It's just they aren't worth anywhere near the price premium.

but a special piss treated version

Index if you like Bose, I heard a lot of people guy the QC15s. Supposedly great value and bose have nice active noise cancellation (headphones emmit a negative frequency that matches frequency from outside noice and cancells it.). Bose is another one of those brands that is generally disliked (along with beats, skullcandy ect). Although the QC15s are pretty nice.

Here is a review: http://www.trustedreviews.com/bose-quietcomfort-15_Headphones_review. Regardless these things are still incredibly overpriced it seems. I thought they would be cheaper by now but apparently not. This must be why people also dislike bose lol.

I have a pair of ATH-M50s as well, they're pretty good.

But I opened this up in them:

And modified them so they have the little 3.5mm jack instead of the cable going direcly into them, like so:

And I changed the pleather earpads out for some some velour ones, takes away from the isolation a bit but it's worth it for better comfort.

You may have to teach me how to do that! Although as I said before I think I saw a thread about this on head-fi. Where did you get the velour earpads from? And do they improve/effect sound/comfort?

it's a brand that's generally disliked like Beats? why? the price doesn't seem like enough justification, mine were like $150. there are tons of headphones that are way more. do you mean disliked on 4chan or something, or review sites?

I have a pair of Audeze LCD-2. They are literally the best of the best. Not even joking, look em up.

Image

Wanna know why they're so good?

Review excerpt:
Pronounced "Odyssey," Audeze is making waves in the headphone market with its staggeringly good LCD-2 headphone. A planar magnetic design, the LCD-2 is incredibly fast—with rhythm and pacing no dynamic driver headphone we've heard can match. Tonal balance is warm and almost golden, yet never rolled-off or syrupy. Tune after tune, the music flows, your toes tap, your head bobs, and the music sounds and feels just like you always knew it should. Sound engineers and musicians alike are raving about their brutally honest performance. The LCD-2s are so incredibly addictive and the leather padding so comfortable, you may never take them off.

Normally I'd never be able to afford them but I got a special deal. :)

Wow, all these fancy headphones, i don't need very high quality shit, we own turtle beaches, but, i use some 20$ headphones, or regular earbuds... They play music clearly and such, and my music doesnt have alot of bass and such so i don't need all that. xP

A pair of working headphones is all i need.

Also, all of those puffy headphones are very uncomfortable, ive worn Beats, turtle beaches, Bose and sony ones, but they are all just so uncomfortable, maybe because i have a big head and small ears.

I use a pair of Sony EX earbuds.

My friend at school gave me these because he didn't like their bass enhancing properties (songs here in Hong Kong were rather more quiet compared to those in the US). I, however, like them pretty much, since I mostly listen to electronic music. They were gold in colour, and has no volume control whatsoever. Been using those for a year now, and they still sound really good (to me).
I also got a pair of counterfeit Monster Turbine Pro Gold. Bought those in Guangzhou for ¥110 (BTW ¥ is Chinese Yuan, and is close to Hong Kong Dollar). Looks awesome, but sound is not really good.

Sorry to say... but those are fake. Why else wouldn't they be on the beats website.

I've been hanging around the head-fi forum for awhile now. From what I have gathered they are universally disliked. Reasons include lower sound quality and being overpriced. I actually thought those QC15s were around the $140 mark. I wouldn't pay more than that for them, but as I looked they are actually still $300 which after listening to them is a complete load of shit.

Beats are generally disliked because they are also incredibly overpriced. Another reason is that they cator to people who enjoy nothing but bass. Therefore the mids and treble are completely drowned out by the overpowering bass. (which on everything except for the beats pros is really muddy and unrefined). The main reason is that it pretty much represents stupidity to the highest degree. The whole beats line is a marketting campaign aimed to exploit ignorant customers. In practice, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a pair of beats solos. But since they have the "dr dre" name on them, they are sold at $200 and people buy them.

Cobalt: Fuck you man. I have been wanting to listen to a pair of these (or LCD-3). They aren't quite the best of the best anymore (since LCD-3 release). Many would rate the Sennheiser HD800 higher also. What amps/sources are you running these with? I can't imagine you would own a $1000 headphone without spending a dime on amp/source. Also what is this special deal you speak of!! LCD-2 or 3 actually have lambskin earpads... how are the 2s for comfort?

flamr: They could well be real. Monster makes plenty of beats in different colours. I think they even make custom ones for different regions of USA. There are many many custom models. Wouldn't really matter though, solos sound terrible regardless.

I find Beats are like Apple products. You pay a ton for the brand name so that people will think you're hip and cool.

Idk if I'm the right person to teach you lol, maybe try looking up a tutorial?

I got the pads from Amazon, Beyerdynamic 250 EDT Velour Earpads (Being a different brand and model they dont fit QUITE the same, but after you stretch them a bit they'll slide on quite nicely)
They don't really effect the quality of the sound itself, but the isolation goes down a bit. But they are WAY more comfortable and breathable :D

Also Cobalt, GODDAMN. I want D:
How'd you get them?
