That OvE is a perfect example of what I meant a long time ago about ele suffering late game from no mana heavy units.
Wp all round though.

All I did was go through trees after I saw he wasn't gonna let me fire, which I waited too long on because I hate doing it.

I lost not because of mana heavy units (what does that have to do with anything?), but because elementals can't produce units at the same rate end game.

Wyz, why don't you try charrogs instead of trees? Using them isn't as brain-dead and it's pretty effective.

Against archidons, they'll just get eaten. The're just a more expensive method on approaching. Normally I would, but at the rate he was at it would have been suicide to continue the fire path.

That's what I meant. Ele can't fall back onto mana based units late game like Chaos and Order can, so as you said it can't produce units at the same rate end game.

ALL he had to do was scorch spam you and he'd won.

also he didnt harass enough. he had fires, infernos, airs... if he harassed more he wouldve won.

Both are fine examples of defeating earth stall and dulling the mid-game power "spike"

Still, both were short maps, I'm also using this as an example of how elementals aren't unstoppable mid-game. Had he focused a little more on miner upgrades and merics, he may have beaten me for the third time. Using edit since I can't double post.

Elementals might not be unstoppable mid game, but they are very stoppable late game :P

And you can double post, you're just not allowed to.

Sure they're very stoppable late game, just thought I'd use those replays as examples of how elementals don't have that much of a power spike. Everyone knows that they can double post, but I just don't want to receive an infraction (who does?).
