Yea I know but I find them more useful as damage dealers. I try not to have them go out front too often because if the other person has a large force, it isn't that hard to concentrate forces and take out the giant rather quickly.

They can, but it still takes a few seconds, and while all their melee units are clumped up close to the giant, you can use a single magikill to blast them all to oblivion :D
