Its pretty much served its purpose; or are you leaving it open for "discussion"?
I'm just curious, because I don't see another reason for this to keep receiving posts after applications have already closed.

In all seriousness, I'm making a general comparison to between other threads.
Usually I see "nothing more needs to be said, #instalock" by core moderators after a thread serves its initial purpose which comes off differently in this situation as opposed to "normally this would be off the announcements by now, abit abnormal, maybe the mods want to keep it open for some reason out of my understanding "
so I ask jeff if he's even considering such.

If people suck up to the mods then they won't get infractons. I don't see why this is a bad thing because I am pretty sure they will always follow the rules so that the mod will like them. You can't really suck up to authority figures if you don't follow the rules they enforce.
