I have just recently purchased a Raspberry Pi and hope to learn something from

I have been meaning to purchase one for use as an HTPC in my living room. While obviously it would be as robust as a rig I would build myself, the Rapsberry Pi model B with 512 MB of RAM is more than powerful enough to crunch 1080p videos and run XBMC. There's an open source distribution of XBMC on linux specifically for the Pi called Raspbmc.

The only reason I haven't is because I keep forgetting, and the only time I remember is when my fucking PS3 gives me that cinavia bullshit anti-piracy.

Now is as good of a time as ever? But yeah, I was probably going to use it as a media rig too. Oh, and thanks for the info, I'll remember to use Raspbmc.

I have, I emailed them every 2 months since I ordered in March 2012, they said they'd ship it ,but I think I got scammed...

How could you have been scammed? You went through their website right?

Yeah Yeah! It is pretty cool. You can steam/play movies seamlessly at 1080p. http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Raspberry_Pi/FAQ
xbmc works as a media player on it for such.

Well that sucks... and I guess there isn't much you can do about it then. I bought mine through Allied Electronics which is posted as a
re-seller on their site, so hopefully the same won't happen to me too...
