I don't know about anyone else but the few swf to video converters i have tried to use have all been pretty bad, hard to use, or come with a price tag.
But now we have Swivel. Swivel is a free swf to video converter made by Newgrounds with the needs of flash artists in mind, but i havent used it much yet so i'll let this guy explain.
So far the best thing about it i have noticed, is that it allows you to convert multiple swfs into one video file back to back. Which I would imagine would make compiling a collab rather easy.
Well if this is what you need, here it is: http://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/creator-resources/flash-resources/swivel
I hope this is useful.

Hmmm...so I decided to test this myself using my Delta tryout, with default settings in the conversion:
Original .swf: http://www.fileize.com/view/2fe9fa71-d85/
After conversion (download button at right side): http://sta.sh/0sqpy8t8b0u
Not pixel perfect, but I did only set it to default after all, and I haven't seen a free converter that was better than this yet. It's interesting how, even with the preloader, I was able to click the .swf during conversion and begin the animation.

Wait so if your flash animations have sound effects and you convert it, will it still have sound effects?
Feb 23, 2013 5:35 PM #893867
This is filled with issues, especially if you're using a vcam. I say stick to flash's quicktime movie export function. I played around with the settings and it gives me very satisfactory high quality results, with no frame rate drops.

Depends on how high quality you set the conversion to.
