I don't know, people above the 1600s don't mass Allbowtrosses.

Albow mass can be beaten easily. 2 or so giant meatshields and some archidons in the back while speartons rush any magikill or other ground units. I do it against albow massers when I face them and it works almost all the time.

The easiest is to have a wall of speartons with shield and then just use magikill's electric wall and fire blast. It kills albows reallly fast. It's actually quite incredible.

Couldn't the albows just target your magikill though?

Me and frost tried something similar in a test. Albows can easily fly OVER speartons and kill archers or magikill. Giants work better since they are taller.

Well, why don't you move the mages to the other side of the spears?
Or, move the speartons back
Or, move the speartons back

The game is 2.5-D you could say. There is some depth, but not a whole lot. The bolts would still have a chance of catching the archers heads if you used speartons. Even more so when they use shield wall since they lower their height slightly. Since giants can touch the top of the screen (almost) when grown atleast once, they can absorb bolts with no chance of magikill or archers being hit. Besides, 1 giant even half-grown has more health than 2 speartons with almost the same population cost. Plus the giants can also stun and do huge damage to the albows to support your archers. One less bolt, plus some huge damage.

So basically, Spear+Mage for pro's,
Giant+mage for noobs (not really)
Giant+mage for noobs (not really)

I'd rather use the giant since per population, it has more health than a spearton when upgraded and can also attack albows while blocking bolts, unlike speartons. Again, giants have a 100% chance of blocking bolts aimed at other units, while speartons have more like a 90

I suppose, but I like efficiency, besides one giant is only a little more gold than 3 speartons.

And 3 spear can beat 1 giant
