I know that there are some people that have a specific favorite band, meaning that they use most of their music for videos and animations, especially RHG animations. So what is your signature band? Must explain why and what did you use their music for, or you just like their music.

No OSTs as in music from video games, movies, etc. It has to be real bands like Rolling Stones, Tenacious D, Dethklok, Sybreed, Voltaire, etc.

To start it off, my signature band is Soilwork (obviously to those who have seen me post their songs on the Rate The Song Above thread, I even have their logo as my avatar). I just love their hybrid of death metal and melodic vocals, it just sounds so divine. It's the kind of music that builds a adventurous, yet profound feeling within me, like if the songs are telling a story. I've used their music for basically my RHG animations, including one song for my RHG's theme.

Their new album, The Living Infinite, is coming out on March 5, and I want to preorder it once it comes to iTunes!

At the moment I'd have to say Rhyme Asylum.

I'm so glad I found them, since I'v been looking for hip-hop that fits my tastes well for a long time now, and RA does just that.
Good mix of old school and horrorcore (which I'm not normally a big fan of because the lyrics are often pretty lame) but RA makes horrorcore styled lyrics work with their amazing wordplay and lyricism.

The quote in my signature at the moment is from their song "Next Level"

The accents also work for me, and actually compliment their flows. MC Possessed is a beast.

I often spit verses from their songs for fun and practice.

Here are just some of my favorite quotes and bars:

"Name of my inner child? Damien Thorn!"
"Double crossed Christ because once wasn't enough."
"Cross my heart, hope you die."
"Rest-in-peace-out."
"I'm a hell-born Seraphim, four faces with torn feather wings, spawning forth the four Nephilim."
"I got master degree burns after a heatstroke of genius"
"If I swallowed my pride, I'd choke to death."
"Spit on your grave ‘til the corpse floats to the surface."
"My body's not a temple, it's a haunted house."
"License to drive you insane."

Stratovarius is by far my favourite band, I love their style and lyrics, covering many themes and ideas, and the sometimes mystical appeal some songs have I love.
They have a new album Nemesis which is to be released in February, and the single which I've heard..I love it.
They've been as a band since 1984.
They have a nice range of instrumentals, fast paced songs, but in my opinion, their best songs are the slower and lengthier songs. The song Elysium being one of my favourites.
The album artwork is always really neat, and is inspiring to me on a personal level.

I feel they're more of a band I simply prefer myself, almost everyone I show them to doesn't really show a great deal of interest.

Anyone who would want to take a new step in metal bands, I'd recommend them.

And if you aren't into that sex up there try this. Maybe it will be more "real".

MOTHERFUCKING CAN
Image
that's an album cover and not a logo but whatever

Can is one of the greatest bands to ever exist and influenced (or even pioneered) a wide variety of genres (industrial, trip hop, ambient, noise rock, post-rock, avant-garde/experimental, punk, new wave, electronic), but most importantly post-punk because post-punk is one of my favorite genres. they were also a big influence on Radiohead

these albums by Can are timeless masterpieces (seriously), and are very unique even from each other:
Future Days
Tago Mago
Ege Bamyasi

and others with Mooney as the singer (black guy who left after a mental breakdown) like Monster Movie and Delay 1968 are also great.

the drummer, Jaki Liebezeit, is the greatest drummer of all times. Damo is a Japanese guy who lived in Germany yet sang in English and his voice is beautiful. I have fukken spiritual experiences to Future Days.

Can influenced my musical taste quite a bit.

"By bridging electronic music, jazz music and rock music, Can accomplished the first organic study on rhythm and texture. Their hypnotic and glacial instrumental jams straddled the line between free-jazz, acid-rock and chamber music. While pursuing an erudite divertissement of Cage's aleatory music and Schoenberg's atonal music, while experimenting with the potentialities of electronically-manipulated instruments, while favoring subdued, fragmented, loose structures and sinister, menacing atmospheres, Can became masters of a new electro-acoustic form of music." -Scruffy

also I own the original U.S press of Future Days on vinyl. wish it was the German pressing but it's still #rare and sweet

Fuck yeah, I learnt the bombtrack bassline once, couldn't stop playing it.

My signature band would have to be The Suicide Machines, or Less Than Jake. their mixture of Ska, Hardcore and punk turns me on like nothing else. Rancid is also another one of my favourites to animate to. Also, Gang Starr. So fucking chill.
