Chess was a great game for me for a while, then I learned how much of it is already solved and that at a competitive level it's just memorising openings and responses rather than thinking. That really put me off continuing it further.

I play 115 ECF grade.

I play the Englsih opening/reverse Sicilian as white
I like the Sicillian at black too
fencettoed bishop is nice
C4 keep grip on centre and can open up the C file for later use.
you can push the E pawn later and have a huge effect.
Good play for your knight and you can use your other bishop to trade for a knight or try to open up the centre.

Chess is always different evreytime you play.

@skele

Ok the opening can be completely memorised but if you do that your stuck mid game as you can't exploit the advantages your opening gives you because you won't under stand the opening. I play the English but i don't know it move by move all i remember is that i have to do the following things.

C4
G3
B-G2
D3
N-C3
N-F3 or E2

Once you get past the opening the possibilities are endless and new positions crop up all the time. AND their is a limit to how many positions you can remember.

I have played about 50 Games with the English everyone has been different.

I Hope you get back into Chess as id love to play you. you play in any leagues? which ones?

At my school theres a 2300 and and a 2200. The rest of them are like 1300 level, and its pretty funny watching the 2ks beat them blind.

New idea: beat a 1200 blind folded on SE

i honestly hate chess.com, slow reaction and not enough time limit. ( I got to 1700 in chess.com and stopped)

sometimes I have to wait for 10 mins for one step of my opponent.

^this is much better. 2 mins time limit for each step and screen looks better.

I barely watch it tbh, not my cup of tea watching animated Japanese shows.

I googled what it means, no biggie.
