Wasn't to prove you wrong as it was to demonstrate how broken combinations are.
We all agree a change needs to happen, but what kind of change? I've proposed this, perhaps we can also throw some ideas, as I'm gonna guess the lack of responses from the devs are from them deep in thought over this.
To match the powers of the other empires for start, mid, and late game, combinations must be more costly or take more
time to achieve. Personally, I wouldn't mind a building time, maybe using 2 purchased units to create a combination from the garrison. Before we rush to "Well now they'd suck," why not offer the elementals a defense option much like Order/Chaos have walls and turrets respectively. Something to but effective against early threats. This will also push play style to focus to maximizing use of the early units, before making combinations.
This would would fix trees in respect to how long it would take to make, and where they would start from. Honestly, I think a lot of basic problems would be fixed with this. In all seriousness, there should be a test server for any suggestions. Until then, elementals are gonna romp deatchmatch.
I totally agree with that.
Now elemental creates a boring situation in deathmatch.
Because the only viable way for elemental player to do in EvC or EvE, is to tree spam as soon as possible
That is just a gamble and competition of timing
Many other units are underrated and very few chances to use them.
Especially for inferno and cycloids
And the only viable way to beat elemental is albow or eclipsor mass, which is impossible for elemental players to deal with
It would be much better if the units can be balanced and allow players to make good use of every unit
