I tried to draw something realistic. I failed, so why not post it here? :) done with pastels and suede board. no reference. completely by imagination. and yis, its a ww2 soldier.

It looks somewhat realistic in some respects. Nether the less, its still pretty cool.

It's pretty cool, good for a cartoony portrait, anatmoy all in the right area; however to get the "realism", you have to go over even the smallest details of contour and value (Value especially)for the drawing.

If not already, try charcoal (Though I hate it to death) for realism; It'll help bring out the value's you need most.

I wouldn't call it a fail. It's just a bit rough in general.

not bad i would say, i know it's not that great but hey, at least it is somewhat realistic and at least you try.
also, if this is your first attempt to realism, dont expect it to be perfect because realism takes alot of skills to accomplish it,
especially if you dont have any reference at all so yeah dont be ashame, if you can't do it just think about others, neither can they do
it too, sometime it takes alot to do something like this, just think that someday you will get there and have hopes, i'm sure you'll be fine :)

btw since you're good on paper too, you think you might wanna have some fun doing an art battle? if you accept i'll try to see
if i can invite other artists to join us as well, and i mean "good" artists so yeah let me know what you think Stickly :)

whelp, I am currently in a competition with balistiik, but I guess if it is just pencil and paper I can do this too. :)

ohhh okay, hmm im wondering if you guys have started already or not because if not then maybe you guys could just switch it to this upcoming battle
because i'm also planning to do it like a 3-4 ways battle too so yeah if you guys haven't started it yet and perhaps can switch it i think that would be great,
though if you guys can't, it's still fine, but yeah hopefully so you won't have to do it all of them at the same time rather than just this, let me know what you think ....
