This is just a quick topic I made because I'm pretty damn frustrated at the state of my former favorite cartoon channels; Disney, Cartoon Network and Nick. Nearly 60-70% of all three channels feature live action shows with mediocre teen actors over actual cartoons and frankly it's getting a little out of hand imo. These channels started out with the purpose of screening simple cartoons with nice little sensible plots where everyone in the family could have a good time watching. Now it's just random 13 year olds shouting out words that no one would give a fucking shit about. I really don't get why they're doing this. If kids these days wanted live action shows so badly, then they should create a whole channel for that deranged asswipe shows and dump all of those godawful pieces of shits there. It's just insane what they're doing to these once spectacular channels. So what do you think about this whole thing?

Excuse my grammar if some of it is incorrect, I'm damn pissed right now. Oh and I was going to put this in the debate section but it's not much of a debate so much as a rant with lots of opinions on what these channels should do to save themselves.

EDIT: Oh wait, there ain't no debate section anymore. Nvm.

Live action is transitioning from internet to TV, good cartoons from TV to internet. The media is upside down.

And oh yeah, just a week ago I think it was, they cancelled Young Justice and Green Lantern TAS. My first response: DUH FUHK. There is no (and probably never will be any) word as to how much frustration I am in right from the moment I heard about that. I just started melting on the inside. If I try to express it, I'm pretty sure I'd break my keyboard, smash my face with the monitor and light myself on fire while being raped by a pedophile and being slaughtered by ten great white sharks, all while being pumped with liquid nitrogen.

Let's face it, Cartoon Network is being mutilated by fuckwits who think they can just fucking cancel any block that shows a little decline in ratings for like a second, in favor of talking fruits with some weird ass guy's face on the front, who acts like a retard....and those other piece of shit live action crack.

I believe the term you're referning to is "sit-com"; and they're all pretty fucking terrible.
I can appreciate it here and there, but it's fucking everywhere these days.
Producers on these networks seem almost oblivious to what draws a good audience in as opposed to the 90's to the mid 2000's.
What pisses me off the most is the sheer irony of cartoon network featuring sit coms like "ouut of jimmy's head" or some shit; It's "cartoon network" for christ sake, written to the sole fulfillment of having nothing but good old fashioned cartoons.
I've quit watching TV long ago, so I don't have a well grasp on it's situation atm; but it sounds like an even greater hell than it was when I left it.

Cartoons. It's live action tv shows' fault for making Cartoon Network so horrible.
The only things that are good on there is Cartoon Planet, Adventure Time, and Regular Show.

I think you may be slightly overexaggerating it. The shows are directed towards kids so they probably just don't appeal to you. I'm also thinking you have somewhat of nostalgia glasses on because you're mentioning that they cancelled the show you like. I've gotten through a lot of the old shows that I used to watch and I can easily tell why someone of an older audience would consider it dumb, but that doesn't take away from their quality because I grew up with them. I also never see kids watch the old Nick/Cartoon Network and praise on how amazing it is and how the current stations are complete shit. Most of them think it's boring.

As for how well it's doing, they still get a shitton of views and draw in large (child) audiences. What your saying is that all the shows now are retarded, but someone can think otherwise.

Okay maybe just a little. But what I don't get is that Cartoon Network used to be a channel for everyone, where parents wouldn't question the intelligence of their children's shows. Where cartoons could be watched by anyone of any age and be still enjoyed. CN didn't only care about ratings, they had a soul and they actually cared about their quality. Now they've lost what was once so amazing and they put on any Bieber resemblant preteen on TV with flashy effects and lots of shouting. I don't think kids really analyse shows...so they want something that looks fun just in that moment. And CN gives them that, without any regard to older/veteran viewers. And if Young Justice was so down in the dumps, fine. They had every right to cancel it for their own benefits, but they didn't even have the courtesy to mention even a little that they had something like this being planned (albeit it was a little clear from the start since DC Nation went through so many hiatuses). They pretty much lost the only fan base that didn't have a load in their pants. CN really is sinking to the depths of mediocrity, I think it's safe to say it already has if you look at all the things it's done in the near past (from 3-4 years). Btw, nice video. I lol'd quite a bit.
