NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION I'd like to address some weird shit that I've experienced (posting this shit here in hopes that I'm not the only freak, considering this is the internet I'm probably not)... I listen to these strange moist sounds of people eating or rain and for some reason I get a strange stimulated almost high feeling from it...

Minor shit like that knocks me the fuck out! Like I feel good (too good) after hearing these sounds and after listening about 3 times I fall asleep...

Any feedback?

Someone who understands!

I get this feeling from listening to certain sound effects as well.

works best with headphones.

Perhaps you are experiencing euphoria through listening to these sounds. Hence why the experience seems so similar to being high.

It's called an autonomous sensory meridian response. There's a subreddit where people share videos that trigger the reaction: ASMR.

edit: ninja'd hard.

Vacuum cleaners, Fans and Air Conditioners knock me right out. I have a app on my phone that has a lot of sounds that cause that effect that I use to go to sleep, I've actually kinda spoiled myself, now I can't go to sleep without it.

Ah, I was curious about this but didn't exactly know how to explain it or what it was called, making it difficult to look up.

I've had a similar response to music rather than sound effects. I think that's called musical frisson though. I had it to the instrumental part of a Doors song the first time I heard it, dear god it was beautiful

I wanted to punch the person who recorded themselves eating pasta. But then again, I just dont like the sound of people eating.

Anyways, the sound of people lecturing makes me sort of just not fall asleep, but I just stare there and zone completely out.
