stone was discussing this in the SP podcast #2 thing. I personally say RHG Tournament, the last one wasn't completed on FA so it'd be really awesome to do this one. I think (since nearly everyone has an RHG) it would be a better competition instead of the music video one. While that is a very nice idea, imo it would be better to hold that off till some other time. Everyone would be able to participate in the RHG Tournament since it just requires an RHG, and no knowledge of syncing music, choosing the right moments to do things and other shit like that.

This was hard to choose, we all want to do the RHG Tournament, but at the same time we want to do the Music Video Comp. since it was also unique, and was also my idea since I've suggested it to stone in livestreams. I'll choose the RHG Tournament since I've been mentioning it over and over in the past.

personally, I'm up for the RHG tournament
I'd love to do some music video animation too, though, but then I considered this
1-I didn't partecipate in the other one
2-I don't know if, with music videos, it'll be the same as the competitions (only the best ones will be featured), while I remember all anims for the last tournament got featured all together
3-I want to get my ass raped (hit me boy) :3
only a question, for those who already partecipated in this the other time
how are RHGs selected for the tournament?

As I recall, there were 3 groups: beginner, intermediate and experts. And all you had to do was post your best and latest animations along with your RHG page link on the topic.

I voted RHG Tournament v3 for the same reason Dipi did. To get my ass whupped.

I voted for the RHG tourney for a butt load of reasons, here are my main ones:
Me and a butt load of others have been waiting for it ever since the merge first began. I remember recently having a discussion about if over IRC with Oxob and others, the most frequent response I get is "I would love to participate in one"
Another would be an RHG tourny would really set things in place here. I mean the community in "family" sense, things are just falling apart. Its hard to say anything without having a whole group of people flaming on one guy, and holding grudges, just to feel superior. Like this place has ranks or something.
It would boost the moral around here. I mean just look at us! People would still be making 10 WIP threads a day if Jeff didn't step in and try and do something about it. And even at that people still say they will commit to projects and other events. Then make 2 seconds of something and post screen shots just to look cool, if not doing it at all. This tourney could actually inspire people to get up and do something if they're serious about it.
An RHG tournament could be a BIG help for Stickpage also. anywhere from 5-25 RHG battles coming in every few months. That's more front pagers, more features, and more traffic around SP's Youtube. It'll be like the old RHG fandemonium in no time.
A new tourney would get tons of hype. Tons of traffic. And plain out tons of fun. I very much hope this happens in the near feature. And I know i'm not the only one.

hmmm
about the group you went, was it based about choosing one (EX. I post the links plus the category I think I am in) or did they choose it for you by judging?

You don't choose the category, they place you into one determining on your animation skills by the links to your latest and recent animations. Oh, and there are limited spots for each category. If they run out of spots, then your chances in joining is dead. Usually the Expert category have less spots than the other two because they wanted a 1 vs 1 vs 1 RHG battle as the Expert's finale.
What I remember is this:
Experts: 24?
Intermediates: 32?
Beginners: 32?
I don't really remember the spots in V2.

YO!
I'm all for the RHG Tourny
1. The last Tournament was a fail I believe
2. I was not in the last one and I wanted to be
So yeah i am all for the RHG Tournament
If you guyz are an RHG fanatic like me then you will CHOOSE [RHG TOURNAMENT]

cant say im to interested in either of the ideas... if anything the music video one, just because i feel bad for stone having to sift though all the nooby rhg animations. like you said EVERYONE has an rhg. it would probably end up a mess.

hmmm, no I don't think so
If you read the previous posts, shadow said only an amount of people are accepted, meaning that the ones who enter must have the necessary knowledges and abilities in animating, otherwise they would not be picked up
or so I think

Personally I'm leaning towards the music video idea. I just think that it gives more variety in what people will be able to create, thinking of the endless genres of music and the animation you could put to that is mind blowing. While I feel a RHG tourny limits you to, well, a fight.
I may be bias because I had the idea to do a music vid about a week before I watched that #2 podcast, but meh. I will defiantly compete in a music video, but I will also happily watch the end result of the tourny. Win win for me.

I thought that it could be a comedy animation competition instead. Then I watched 20 secs to kill CJ...
I think a music video would be great. Watching Stone's get stronger I think that people would be able to create great things and as Youwishjellyfish said the imagination which can be put into it would go into it would be off the scale.

That's how it went down last time. I think they preferred you had at least 6-8 months of animating experience in general.
