Quote from HewittCruel, Mark, and Apex, take your circlejerking shenanigans elsewhere. This isn't about how your clans are awesome because you're not like the examples m0ntana has given. This is about how having too many clans is actually an issue.
Anyways, to continue m0ntana's point and like I said. This isn't the first time this issue's been raised. jdogg made a rant about this not too long ago:
http://forums.stickpage.com/showthread.php?47218-DONT-MAKE-CLANS-IF-YOU-AREN-T-READY
I just think there's no one moderating that place to keep things fresh. But I'm not saying that whoever becomes Sectional Mod for RHGs should start closing Clans-For-Fun or Clans-That-Don't-Do-Shit. They should be able to encourage an environment that will not result in members leaving clans, or members making clans without a clear intention of why they're doing it. They should be able to think up new and exciting additions and changes to the system that will give Clans a purpose which I feel was lost in translation sometime ago.
You know, like what was asked of a long time ago:

Yeah some clans have only been made just for fun, but other clans have been made so that they can get more friends improve and discuss things. I think most people hate those newbies in flash or in animating. So newbies create more clan and invite those other newbies so they can improve their skills. But the problem is that other newbies have so much pride that they think they can improve fast without any help and create clans for those who are intermediate or pro and animations and these so much self-proclaiming newbies hate that other newbies tryout in their clans.
I just hate the idea that so many clans have been establish just for being so immature that they play it by created nonsense clans and just leave it there like a useless toy

I can not agree more with this statement

I say a clan needs some sort of activity, but does not necessarily need events. I like clans that communicate in IRC and Skype rather than the forums, as long as they are doing something. A clan can have 5 pages after a month, and people will think it's dead, but if they are communicating other ways then who cares. With Balance, we stopped talking on forums and purely talked on IRC. We were alive for a long while off that.
Then with SWISH, we almost never talked on forums, we had a private skype chat that we would talk on.
Now with infinity strikers, we mostly talk on IRC and Skype, but because of some less active members who don't go on IRC, we only see them on the forums. I say when a clan is started, if they have not gained members after a month, it be locked. After full, they have their choice on how to communicate, they don't need to fit to others needs by talking and shit on the forums for others to see if the clan itself is talking together. I say, as long as they keep their page updated, and when asked about activity can say "Yeah we're active, we talk on IRC" then no foul. If you're not in the clan suck it up, let them run it.
But clans who show no sign of any activity, and make a "cool clan" and don't do shit bug me.
Example: http://forums.stickpage.com/showthread.php?45665-Tomoshibi
This clan looked nice, and lots looked forward to it with all the great animators, but they did nothing and disappeared quick. It was JUST a pretty face. And just wasted room in the RHG sections.
And last,
DONT BLAME THE CLAN
Sometimes its a bad leader that never shows up, which leads to death, BUT then, sometimes the members are bad and the leader is trying. Don't get in a clan if you aren't committed. Some clans like to be more chilled, which is fine, but when a member CLAN HOPS, it's VERY annoying. You join a clan, leave to join the next big one, then leave to join the next next big one, and you are causing issues with that. 1 member leaving can cause the death of a clan. In Balance, 2 members left, me and drache, and they got 1 more Talelm, but they could never fill that last spot, and died. If you join a clan, Stay committed, if you make a clan, make it for improvement, not for the fame and flashy colors, and if you want to talk on IRC and Skype rather than the forums then do so, just stay UPDATED and show some sign of activity. That is so not true about my clan I fucking made the front page all by my fucking self,it took me hours to finish,So don't go bad mouthing other peoples clans if you're just gonna judge them like that.I even made a new name all bymyself, just ask my co-leader.
Mar 11, 2013 8:10 PM #911938
A new name isn't that hard to do.. and I saw how like 3 different people tried making your flags. BTW, your co-leader made his own clan.
I also could make what you have in 2 minutes, all I gotta do it have some writing, take their profile pic, put it on flash, and find a texture on google.

Activity is definitely a key factor in a clan, but its not the whole thing.
If you ask me, beginner clans/ low inter clans are usually the best. I mean they improve so quick, its not even funny.
I mean look at subzero, they've been around for what? A year now? And that clan was made for the sole purpose of comedy!
But I can agree with most things said, the only problem im seeing, is that all because a clan has fancy art, top notch members, and an awesome layout. Doesn't mean that they're the best clan ever. In most cases they can be classified the worst.
In my opinion the best clans, and most serious clans, are the ones that get things done.
Like Magnum
Inexyz
Most Wanted
Endurance
And I hate to admit it but even Apex
But yeah we are kinda getting into a second generation of day to day clans. But sooner or later they all die out.
Idk if I got my point across there >.>

Aww thankies Mikey poo.
There are 6 types of clans:
Potential Clans: Clans that don't start off too great, but are going to go far.
Inactive Clans: Usually good clans, with too much inactivity.
Active Clans: Clans that are active, and always on, but may not do much.
Worker Clans: Best kind of clans, moderately active, but does shit.
Flashy Clans: Clans that get a lot of hype, look nice, have great members, but never amount to anything and die quick.
No Purpose Clans: The ones everyone hates, clans that are made just to be made, no reason, not serious, usually die.

Thanks Michael, I think the reason why I created my clan is because I like to dictate my own pace and if I am just a member at a clan. I will be ripped into for not being online or active which will eventually lead to me being kicked out or quit the clan. The second reason why I created a clan is to help people in who where noobs an lick me atm. And maybe have the same animating style like all of Zetabrand members have except kidkei of course, but that has changed now and I realize our styles make us unique so every member can choose which style they use to animate.

Oh, mine's simpler:
Good Clan: A clan that works hard to get shit done by organizing collabs, weeklies, wars, or even inspires individual activity!
Bad Clan: Doesn't do shit, mainly only updates the front page every 4 months (if you're lucky) or spams their page talking about irrelevant things or incomplete projects...

I wonder why you're here preaching it quik.
Make your own damn clan already, and show us that initiative. (Srs, do it)

Thought of it, most of the people are already in clans...
That and depending on how something changes I might not be here too long...

Why make clans? Why not go solo?
