Hey guys,

It's been a long time coming I think to continue to breathe more life into the community here. I love our 4-days, site traditional collabs and events. However, why cant we do something smaller. Something on a more regular basis? This is where an old idea comes into play..

The term 'Friday Funk' originated from SFDT. Where each Friday the site admin would designate a very simple animation subject for everyone to give a shot. These weren't to be taken to seriously or take much time. The subject could be, animate a flour sack showing some sass or water droplets. Everyone would then submit their entry to that page and everyone could have a laugh at the attempt or look in awe at the amazing job someone did in just a short period of time.

Many of our users are in school, which means a few things. One of these things is that Fridays are awesome, why not make them even more awesome? What if, every Friday, we held an assortment of small site events that everyone could participate in?

Not an animator but a gamer? What if every Friday we had a small mini-tournament on Stick Empires or League of Legends with small prizes to be handed out for winners?

Not a gamer or animator? What if there was some sort of 'short story friday funk?' Best short story under whatever category wins a little ribbon award to be tagged to their signature?

I don't know about you guys, but I think these are just some small ideas that I think could really bring us all together again and breathe life and continued enjoyment to the community rather than just a couple days out of the year?

I am your vessel, let me hear your wishes and translate them into reality!

This is great, I have an idea for people with a taste for paper.
"Pass the Canvas".
A small little thing that can be done in no less than 5 minutes. What I'm thinking is since artwork is becoming more and more apparent on stickpage, we could have a master canvas passed around for members to simply doodle their hearts away on; like when a notebook gets passed around and people pen on it's pages like there's no tomorrow.

Oooooo! I really like this idea! I don't want to forget about our great graphics artists. This is also something we can definitely do.

What exactly do you mean with short story exercising?
Will everybody toss ideas/scripts/texts and choose the best of them?
Also, who will choose the topics? Us (sometimes) or admins?

Well, that's the thing. I don't know precisely how we'd want to handle it. That's what this thread is for. For people to expand upon the given ideas and see how or what we could do to organize them.

Another great idea. I really like the ideas of having gamer tournaments and the Pass the Canvas thingy.
