Those moments in games where something happens that makes you want to shit enough bricks to build a wall to hide from what caused you to shit enough bricks to build...you get the idea.
I myself am not too much of a gamer and I'll admit to getting startled and scared easily, but I'll say the most memorable for me.
Pikmin 2 - The Water Wraith.
This thing have me nightmares as a kid. Not kidding. 100% true. It's a giant beast you encounter in an underground complex that's located and mapped so only one kind of Pikmin can enter the complex; The blue Pikmin, rendering you defenceless against it.
Also, the music and atmosphere of this place is so foreboding that you want it to appear to get that feeling out of your mind but also you're scared of him appearing. It's design scared me a little, it was so human and non human at the same time I was terrified of it. It will put you into a wave of fear and panic whenever you see it (Nintendo actually added that statement in the game), but if you aren't scared, you're pushed into a corner of being unsure what to do and start panicking.
Siren Blood Curse - The Zombie Policeman
This scene is frightening. Flat out frightening. He chases you into a house and you're pushed into hiding into a closet and he walks in that room and stares you out for really long. I don't know about you but this gave me the feeling he was actually there and I was in that closet, it just seemed like it.
Rayman 3 - Hoodlum Havoc - Desert of the Ughh....Canaran, is it? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, I was really young playing this, and this part was really scary for the innocent little mind I had playing it. The roars, quotes and lurking stature of these things always really scared me to one point nearly tears. Don't say anything funny or witty, I was very young and like I said I scare easy. I don't have this game anymore so I can't go back and think about this whole experience again only from memories from a ling time ago.

SA-X
What's worse than you having to go around an abandoned space facility with an exact evil clone of you, searching to destroy you.
You can't destroy this clone during any encounter mid-game (With the exception of when you're actually supposed to fight it); and if it spots you, you're almost sure to die, as it will destroy you instantly.
Being told this as a kid, I put down my gameboy and haven't picked it up for several weeks.

I am scared easily. I cant play horror games except The Last Stand serie.
Anyway,
Jurassic Park.
I know its not a horror game, but imagine playing this as a 7 year old kid. I cant even get past the first zone, too scary. Didnt even pass the gate.
Resident Evil 2.
Well, zombies. Saw my sis playing this, cant sleep the night, and the after.
Now, what else? I think Ill add them later.

The Last Stand?
I played that game, and it isn't scary even a little bit.
It's so easy to kill the zombies (aim for the head)
Anyway, for the most scary game moments, is when I met a lurker or a brute in Dead Space series.
Those guy could rip you heads out with just 1 movement, or cut your body into a half.

Fuck. This. Part.
I literally shat knives playing these trials; it doesn't help that you're completely defenseless and the guardians are fast as fuck.

Escaping the first level on Metroid Prime. After my infuriating battle with the Parasite Queen, my heart raced when I have to rush out of the space station. I panicked and I didn't know where to go. Freakin' timer got me to panic through the whole damn thing.

Ao Oni man, fucking Ao Oni...
I dunno if you guys have played this game (which you should) but you basically are trapped in a house with this fucked up monster that doesn't even come off as the kinda mainstream "omg he's so horrifying!" scary, more like a strange kinda scary that can barely be explained...
To sum it up in the game the Oni basically pops out of nowhere once in a while while or after you are working on a puzzle and there is one scene with you had to retrieve something out of a jail cell and if you were smart enough you lock the jail cell behind you...
This is what basically happens:

Oh god Exilement. I remember playing through that part. It was pretty nerve racking, especially the first time when you didn't expect it at all.
Amnesia and Penumbra were pretty fucking scary.

i think dead space 2 deserves a mention, even though that game wasn't so much scary as it was memorable for the occasional ridiculously intense action sequences.
example
(possible spoilers)
when i played it, at 1:48 i was like "whew i'm glad that's over"

The first time you "finish" the game in Imscared.exe has to be one of the scariest moments I've had in recent memory. The whole way that game functions is pretty genius. Also, the Tenebris Lake custom story for Amnesia made me shit bricks at times.

After clicking that link, oh god.
I go to PDP channel, watch it until the ending. Blue dildos coming at you non stop with fabulous haircut(s). But scary shit. Even PDP himself are screaming on the camera.
You really chose a real good horror game. Thats Japan for you.
