The official tutorial is better for things like this, magicaldragon.
Or, you could just learn to draw.

Like yourself? :)
Meh, this should be locked and/or canned, it can/will get new Flash users that read it into a bad habit if they do this instead of drawing or even tracing a picture buy hand/mouse.

Quote from sr.holaBest Gun EVER!!!! Tutorial
Here is a tut on how to make the most realistic gun you could ever imagine.
Step 1: To start off you will need to download a picture of a gun (obviously). The gun can be any kind, because there is no tracing involved.
Step 2: Press Ctrl+A (select all) or highlight everything in the picture with the selection tool. DO NOT scale down the picture. If the gun doesn't fit in the Stage, simply zoom out.
Step 3: with the picture selected, click Modify, Bitmap, and Trace Bitmap. When the pop-up comes up, simply press OK. Don’t screw with the numbers or options unless you know what you're doing.
Step 4: The gun should now have a more cartoony touch. Click on all surroundings of the gun and delete them one by one. Inside the trigger guard as well. When you think you're finished, press Ctrl+A once again to spot marks or shadows you might have missed, and delete them.
Step 5: Highlight the entire gun, and either group it (Ctrl+G), or convert the entire thing to a symbol.
Step 6: NOW you can scale it down, and watch your creation shine in glory.
You're Welcome!
(Noobs keep scrolling down)
If you don’t know how to import an image, here's your extra tut.
For Windows 2000-XP: Go to a search engine, click Images, and save the image to your computer. Make sure you save it to My Pictures. Go to Flash, click File, Import, Import To Stage, and then go to My Pictures, click on your gun, and that’s it!
No .

No, No drawing your gun does take time but it's worth it. Tracing is for other things, but NOT FOR GUNS!!
I made two guns, one is drawing and the second is tracing.
Draw:

Traced:

I Think the first one has more detail. I did the same thing when I first had flash but it's time to draw. Good luck:Happy:

No, stick_squall, the first one is tracing. The second one is the traced bitmap function. I'm pretty certain that you took a picture of a Berreta and used the line tool to go over the details of the gun on a different layer. That is tracing. The other gun you posted is traced bitmapping.

I can draw really good guns, well not really good but good. I can make some for other people, simply meaning no ****ing tracing, your an artist! Use your head and draw! Although I can help someone like noobs to draw guns for them sometimes, only in pm's please...

Meh, drawing guns isn't that hard. Tracing is just crap.
