I don't think they should have a statue animation. This is for 2 reasons.
A. Allows exploiters to do their... exploiting
B. Makes laggy people lag out, when they win even.
Who else think we should get rid of this?

Of course. I lost a game where my wings pwned the statue because the animation took around 10 seconds, during which I lagged out. I mean, I don't see the point. At least make the animation toggleable or smoother and more realistic.

Why? First, it doesn't really work that way, vanishing into the ground. 2nd, it creates lag and opportunity for exploiters.

I lost while my opponent's statue was being destroyed during animation... Curse you, exploiteh!!! Anyway, I think there shouldn't be this animation. It should be like the first stick wars with units wreaking the statue even when it's destroyed.
