hello, I'm trying to increase my pace in animation. When I say increase my pace, I mean the action! I want my characters or "puppets" as I call them to move faster so their combo's can look cooler!
sadly, This is about as fast as I can get at the moment http://www.filz.us/view/11cfaa89-b2c/
I made this today and it's the highest speed I can get my characters to move at the moment.
I want them to move similar to something like oxob's BSEv3 round 10 or Frozens Treinando, but I just don't get it! I've tried to make their movements come out faster, but I usually screw it up and it has made me a coward when it comes to speedy actions. Please help! please, please, please, please!!!!!

Funny... That's the same problem I had experienced some time in the past...
I can't explain it in words but I've something that might help... http://www.filz.us/files/3dee4e82/a9b/Help.fla
Read the notes frame per frame...
Keep practicing... and I also recommend 24 fps..

I've been working on both liquids and also with lightning here: http://www.filz.us/view/efdbaaa7-8f1/

Any criticism or suggestions?

Make the lightning bolt ripple as it starts to tear off after the initial strike. Take a look at this strike:

Hmm, well could I get some general help with my first ever animation?
I use a mouse, and I know that the stickman is rather woobly and changes height and size, and that he is moving a bit to fast, I need to add more frames inbetwen or animate at a slower FPS rate :P

But overall what could I improve? And any good tutorials I should watch? :)

How do you convert Cs3 to flash 8? Although I made my animation through flash 8. It keeps opening as cs3.

There are two ways to go about this.

1) Find a pre-loader that loads the video and then automatically says "click anywhere to play". Google can help find many of these types of pre-loaders.

2)If you want to add something in the next frame after your animation is loaded, or if you want just the screen to be a play button, do this;
Create a square covering the entire white box, convert it to a BUTTON symbol and make it completely transparent through the properties. Double click it and create the first four frames on which you can either leave blank or type in "click anywhere to play".
Next step would be adding code to it, it's the simple button code. I'm not sure about AS3, but in AS2 (which I use) Click the symbol, go to Actionscript for it and type in this:

on (release) { GotoAndPlay(2) ;}

The (2) would be the frame you want the animation to go to once the viewer has clicked the symbol.
Next, go to the frame on which the symbol is and type in the following code:

stop();

This stops the animation from going forward until the button is clicked.
And there you have it.

If you made it through Flash 8 and you've upgraded to CS3, you can still save it as Flash 8, at least I think so, that Flash CS3 has backwards compatibility for it. Go to File>Save As> And in the lower drop box click Flash 8 and it should save as a Flash 8 .fla
If you don't have that option, then CS3 doesn't support compatibility upto Flash 8. However I'm pretty sure that it does. Give it a try.

P.S. The head roll at the end was SUPPOSED to be an epic neck-snapping...

They're all functionally the same but CS6 has a more convenient set up and the bone tool if you're a pivot user transitioning into flash
