BEFORE YOU PANIC: This is not a thread about people making bots.
This game is great, but it's missing something: a test dummy, a sandbox, a place to test ideas and strategies without losing rating points. Of course, there's clans and friends for that, but sometimes nobody's online or you'd just like to test something by yourself.
My suggestion is that the developers add a bot that you can play against (accessed maybe through some button in the lobby) with difficulty levels. But it won't be like the bot on campaign. It'll be INSANELY GOOD. Kiting; swordwrath spacing; timing of rage, shield wall, shield bash, and Shinobi; outranging via fire arrows; vector calculated spell casts: it should have all of that. To implement difficulty levels from there, just adjust a few coefficients to decrease the "intelligence" of the bot, and you're done. And I think it would not only be possible but provide a nice way to play against a formidable opponent.
So, opinions?

Well, there's something called the campaign & tutorial, but non-ranked matches would be nice. Should edit your title.

Well, it attracts attention xD
I know that, but the thing is that the campaign doesn't really help you test strategies for Order vs. Order. It's just a campaign.

But, the campaign IS Order vs. Order (atleast in the first part anyway).

I know, but you get gift units, and the enemy does too, and you can't practice openings practically at all D:

I love this idea, a sandbox to test bots against with no gain, and how about we make it so we can fool around on it, like make it so we can have as many units as we want, infinite gold and mana, and we can make it so we can control both sides and have control of all units (chaos, order, and elementals) just for the fun of the sandbox, remember its a sandbox not the actual game so we can just test things and sometimes have fun with it.
Their would be two types of this, the sandbox in which you can fool around with infinite units, all kingdoms, and infinite gold, and the testing room where you test strategies with the kingdom type you already have and everything is set to normal except the bot AI and map (you choose the intelligence and you choose the map)
But of course you cannot gain points or EC from these.

I agree with the idea. The game really needs a sandbox and a way for you to test units.

umm, HELLO, there's this thing called unranked friend match
Mar 12, 2013 9:30 AM #912591
Um, hello, do you read?

I think the difficulty levels should be on 1-hundred Elo points span.
So it's like:
1500
1600
1700
1800
We could just pick the hundreds we want, and we could test it with the person.

Nah I think it should just be unranked matches against random people, but I totally support the idea of a sandbox because sometimes I just want to play a game and I don't have the time to finish (if it ends up becoming a huge 30 minute war) and other times I need to try out a new strategy.

Really Good Idea, i think the devs should add it, but currently I suggest that let them be making the new mpire, bcz u know it will take much time to build the new empire.

A bot where can recognize you as a rusher or a miner citier.

The primary issue I've found with testing with people is that you have to explain what you want to do and it's not fun for the other person, really. For example: "I want you to spam swords so that I can practice kiting." Not the most fun thing in the world.
With a computerized sandbox, this would be a lot easier.

That's too OP.
