I'm not usually concerned with Catholicism and the pope and all that. However, this interests me. They said this guy would never be pope. He lived with no heat, he was in poverty etc. I just hope he does a good job.

Is it just me, or does Catholicism seem like a money scam? The whole indulgence system pisses me off.

Isn't the name Francis, not Francesco?

I would like it to be francesco because my friend Franco has been referred to as the pope for a while now, and that would be fitting.

hmmm, I don't know which one is the right one, since the Vatican is essentially in Italy, thus meaning the name must be translated in Italian
but this thing I'm saying is probably a big bullshit

It is not my intention to start a religious debate, I refuse to argue religion anyway. I didn't say their belief is invalid by any means. It just appears as a scam but I very easily could be wrong. There is no proof for a topic like this considering its based off faith so I really don't like any argument based around it.

But anywho, I briefly overheard a story about something like "the pope mobile" on the news before I left this morning. Dafuq was that about?

Lol, I didn't hear the explanation, but I saw a priest riding around in a weird car around the church and I was like "Wtf?" right before I left.

Cruel, Indulgences aren't sold anymore, Catholicism is a Christian faith and therefore their sins must be pardoned through the acceptance of Christ. I don't like the whole Indulgences thing either, though.

Here's a pic of the Popemobile:

It seems to be designed so that people can see the Pope, without him risking getting shot at.

Probably, I believe it's called the Vatican. Actually, it's Popemobiles and there are various for different puposes (e.g. Angry Atheists, possible anti, etc).
