Is there somewhere here i can learn or practise "painting" or "drawing"?

I know this whole thing is mostly animating, but i would like to make awesome looking pictures too.
Any advise?

There's an art section just below the animations section. If you want tutorials on it then there are some in the Flash Tutorials section (look for stuff on backgrounds or characters) and some in the Other Tutorials section.
