Well, Best of luck. You should post pictures of this at different steps. And a video at the end of you playing it or something.

The normal fretboard is just decoration, it wouldn't even be close to proper intonation. Plus, I doubt the plastic grooves stick out far enough to be playable without just causing fret buzz. You may need to sand down the neck and glue down some real frets.

yeah. i guess so. i will make a diffrent thread for the process and the final thing.

This thread is so pathetic I'm going to die.
Make the pickups by hand?
Put a "block of wood" into the plastic?
Are you retarded?

The point is to basically condense everything in a normal guitar into the smaller guitar hero controller, its just a tinkering hobby. In no way is it pathetic.
ONTOPIC;
You might have to saw off the fake plastic "pick" on the controller because it has two little bumps that hold it together and I don't think you could fit the strings around it. But I bet you already thought of that.

that was what i was planning. just sand down the bumps. also, if i can, i mght get the les paul controller and work with that.
@ cidada: yes, i am going to put a block of wood inside the guitar controller itsself after i gut it. and i have made pickups for some guitars before. i might be retarded, but i am doing what i love. so suck on that.

I don't get why everyone keeps saying things along the lines of "you're retarded, that is so pointless". Building things is just a hobby for a lot of people, and the fact that it's a challenge is half the fun.
By your logic I must've been retarded for making Z-Tower because it too was simply a waste of time that produced an essentially pointless little end product.
Perhaps you guys could suggest some of your more valid and productive hobbies for him, since you can't seem to accept that he is having fun with projects like this.

It appears pathetic because the way he thought of making it was basically impossible. First he said that he's going to use the fretboard of the plastic guitar as the real fretboard, and etc.
It's not the end product that's pathetic, just how he's thinking of getting to doing it.

How would you do it then? Just saying its pathetic doesn't help give him some advice.
