-Flash:Advantages & Disadvantages
Advantages would be how unlimited it is, you're free to do whatever really. In my opinion it's the most developed, you can draw, have different layers, and it's basically a more developed easytoon*
Disadvantages though, I'd have to say is that it's much harder than pivot (In my opinion), and takes a while getting used to.
-Pivot:Advantages & Disadvantages
An advantage is definitely how great it is for beginners to learn. When I started animation, I started with pivot. It's a much simpler (but not too simple) stick figure animation program, and I love the whole idea of the joints thing, and how it works.
Disadvantage though, is how limited it is. I mean, you CAN make fancy backgrounds and such, but it's a lot harder than just drawing them straight onto the page. Also, there's not AS MUCH variety as Flash in the stick figures. There are 1 or 2 'popular' stick figures people can download from droidz.org and such, and most people use those. It's not like flash, where pretty much every stickfigure is different, and it's more dependent on the animator's creativity.
-Easytoons:Advantages & Disadvantages
Now, I haven't really used easytoon much, I picked it up once, and it looks awesome, but I'd have to say it's a lot more dependent on creativity, as you have to draw every frame I believe, on just 1 layer, and it's a more basic "pen and paper" animation thing. It's cool
A disadvantage though, is it's only black and white, and it's a LOT harder than Flash. Now, this may not be true, but I find it is.
*-Sorry if I got anything wrong about Easytoon, I only used it a few times AAAGGGEEESS ago ^^
-Which one is the best?
In my opinion, I'd have to say Flash. With Pivot very close behind, but Flash beats it by an inch.
-Why is it the best?
Just because it's so amazing, the sky's your limit with flash really. If you can think it, you can make it basically. Each stickfigure (mostly) is unique in the Flash community, and it's just a way to express one's creativity. I love it.
That's just my two cents, if you don't agree, eh, tell me why ^^ My opinion is sometimes a lot different to others' opinions xD

Why is this still here? 85% of this forums animators animate in Flash. This is pointless.

Flash:
Advantages:
-Is the most advanced animating software, which has offered many different animating styles and brings out the most techniques.
-It is much simpler to edit a previous mistake as the user can simply go back and make a minor tweak and fix the problem.
-Allows the user to not only draw an object alone, but manipulate its size, width, length with ease.
-Has the use of symbols, buttons and graphics.
-Can compete with a lot more information and can handle much larger files.
-Allows the user to insert sound effects and music files, as well as crop them in a timeline editing tool.
-Shockwave Flash files are one of the most commonly used file types on the internet.
-Allows the user to import movie clips and other things with ease as well as export into multiple file types.
-The only one to offer filters, which can enhance the looks of pictures and made special effects.
-Actionscript Coding, which allows more than just an animation to be made, you can make menus, preloaders, even games, as Flash games are the most popular used on the internet.
-Has a much higher capability than just stick figures, even full cartoon shows have been made with Flash.
-Can be also used as an art software.
-Has the most tools than any other.
-There are a lot more Flash animation forums than there are Pivot or Easytoon forums. (the only one I can think of is DarkDemon)
Disadvantages:
-It's the only one that costs money to buy.
-It takes extremely long to be a professional Flash animator.
Let's compare of the best known Flash stick animations here:
Pivot:
Advantages:
-Simple programme; doesn't take too long to get used to.
-Uses joints throughout all of it's versions, which is easy to learn.
-Of the best recommended for beginner stick animators.
Disadvantages:
-Just a stick animation software, making it very limiting compared to Flash.
-Animators have to learn many tedious tricks and tips to keep animation at a better standard, as with Flash there are tools and easy methods to solve these.
-The first 3 versions of Pivot offered only one colour for each of its sticks, which made some animators make excessive amounts of extra sticks for even minor details.
-A complete pain to edit the positioning of an object, as you can only send it at the very front of everything or the very back, and it's really tedious to do this when there's a lot of things on stage at once.
-Only offers an on stage view, if you move the origin point of an object off limits, it's stuck there and will likely just get in the way of the animation.
-Views the animation on the same screen that you edit it on, which I hate.
-Can be annoying to go back and correct minor mistakes.
-The only animated file you can export a Pivot file in is a .gif file.
Let's compare:
The Last Fall Of Crimson, one of the best known Pivot stick animations:
MicWizard, a very well pulled off, well known Flash animation on both FA and here:
At this point Flash has already won, but just to show some of Flash's true potential:
Flash takes my vote by a mile.

Jombo how would you like to see, something you love, die? And few people taking shit on it while it's dying. I simply can't fuck off because i know that somewhere in there people are spitting and taking shit on Easytoon and Pivot.

Flash is better than pivot, I'll admit that, but flash is not free. i still vote flash.... I got flash for free though :p
