Top 5 reasons why the PS3 PWNS
Yet another top # list from me. Most of us are 360 fan boys on spp, and if not, its pc. Not many PS3 owners here, but I am one of them, and I practically worship the thing.
Here are the top 5 reasons why the ps3 pwns.

# 5: Blu ray

Image

We all know that this generation has started HD gaming. And therefore, games should require extra storage for their games, so the graphics and updated game play possibilities can be achieved. And considering HD DVD is dead, the only way this can be achieved is with Blu ray. This being exclusive to sony, considering its sony made is something good for the ps3.
Since Blu ray is possible on the ps3, extra disc storage is possible, and high def can be fulfilled with 50 gigabytes worth of potential.
I am an SD guy, but extra disc storage is a good thing for my games to be as good as they can look, even though Im SD, and probably will be for a long time.

# 4: PlayStation Network

Image

What makes PSN so great? Its free, its quality is great, and on holidays (Christmas) it isn't down.
A friend list up to 50, full quality store, chatting with others, and your golden.
The PSN is a great online network, and for the price of nothing, its an amazing deal, no paying 50 dollars a year for us PS3 owners. The connection works well with just about all wireless and wired routers/connections, so no matter what you have, PSN works fine.

# 3: Backwards compatibility

Image

Backwards compatibility is on the ps3, you can play all of your PS1 and PS2 games on the console. With the acception of the 40 gig (which I own), all the classics, you can own. And the PSN can cover if you have a 40 gig, because you can purchase the classics to download online.
Considering the ps2 is the hottest console, still to this date, if you missed out, backwards compatibility is a great thing to have on a console. You don't know the back story to the MGS franchise? No worries, just grab a copy and pop it in that baby, and you can get the full experience, which brings us to our next thing...

# 2: The exclusives

Image

What do you buy a gaming console for?
Porn isn't it miniman. Its the exclusives.
You may be saying 'The PS3 has no good exclusives', ORLY?
How about I show you the list from wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:PlayStation_3-only_games
Over 100, and its just a bit passed its first year.
The 360, first year had about 15 exclusives.
PS3 has over 50 from its first year, now who do you think has more games?
PS3 has amazing exclusives, which will keep you busy for a long time to come once purchased.
Now, for the final one.

# 1: The specs

Image

You see that? Those are the monster specs for the amazingly powerful beast of the PS3.
Lets see the powers of each platform by image.

Wii:

360:

PS3:

The PS3 has amazing graphical capabilities and cell processor to make it the strongest of all the platforms.
Do you see the PS3 having hardware issues?
Do you see people having to get their PS3 repaired?
No?
Exactly.
The ps3 is the monster of specs in the video game industry.

I think the PS3 is a quality console.
I heard some shit about capabilities of 4-D, or something.

Anyway, I own a PS3 and a 360. But, I play my 360 more often, purely because of the current games.

*GIANT QUOTE REMOVED. TRY THINKING NEXT TIME PLZ* Sorry, Dragon, :@.

Bluray: HD is practically the same, They're both equal, don't call it.

PSN: I haven't experienced it. But the way you say it, it sounds cool. But you're obviously biased towards it, so I'm not going to take your word.

Backwards compatibility: No, just no. That's like saying the Wii is better because it plays Game cube games. I would actually call it a negative, I mean, no rumble?

Exclusives: How many do you have? Ratchet and Clank and MGS4? I'm sure they're both great, but it's only two. I hope you're kidding about how it has 'amazing exclusives.'
Tell me 5 games that are good, please.
You're an idiot if you think the PS3 is a gaming machine.
Also, the PS3 is importing the highest selling 360 games, I would say that's 5 points off it's originality score, which makes it a 5.

Hardware? One acronym: PC.

Just shut the hell up, really. It has a good games. I mean, a few good games.

With the PS3 I'd say the games are either great, or some of the worst we've seen. It's an entertainment system, not a gaming system. The average person wants to have internet/movies/dicks/vaginas/god and everything in their machines. The PS3 just didn't pull it off.

Also, 4.5.

lol that the number one reason is specs and not games. I would rather have good games than good specs. Stupid list.

Other than the two you named?
Ok then.

Uncharted: Drakes fortune,
Resistance: FOM,
Warhawk,
Heavenly sword,
Motorstorm.

Would you like me to name more?

Only 2 of those are worth $60 to me.

Yeah Blu Ray sure is fantastic. Nothing like paying extra money for something barely useful so Sony can **** everyone over in the long run by monopolizing the HD video format.

And of course specs are far more important in this list than the games. I'd rather have a powerful console than worry about the actual games (obviously).

Let's debunk bluray.

A basic DVD reader uses light to read the small 0's and 1's on the DVD. BluRay uses a blue laser to read the data. Blue has a smaller wavelength and a higher frequency then that of a regular DVD laser. Therefore, you can shrink the data on the BluRay DVD and fit more on it.

Now let's think logically. What is the most obvious problem with this? Having all of that extra data complicates things. BluRay games take FOREVER to load. Infact, some developers resort to duplicating game data so that it can be read faster. If you don't have the space to use that trick, then you're going to have to think of something better. Just like how you have to install some games onto the PS3 just so that the data can be read faster. Waste of space on the hard drive if you ask me.

Anyway, I could do that to most of your points. I don't want to just because I would probably like the PS3 if I had it. I think the console war debate fights over trivial things. Get the console you want. Not everything has to be about winning.

Problems:

5. The 360 will eventually move towards the bluray now that hd dvd is dead. no doubt about that. Everyone with one now however will probably be stuck with the hd dvd's but Microsoft might make an adapter or extension, if not a third party will get fed up and do it themselves.

4. Yeah, I can see this working well, but is it really that great a reason to get a PS3? $50 a year isn't that bad a price when you think about it. If you buy at least a game a year then you should have no problem paying for it, plus its worth it.

3. I thought they removed the backwards compatibility awhile back in order to reduce price. Also all the other consoles have backwards compatibility [not sure if the wii does but pretty sure] so its not that big a deal.

2. I'd rather take quality of quantity. Theres only a couple games [MGS] on there that I would consider buying. All the others sound like crappy games that I'll see in a bargain bin in a couple months. The 360 has the best exclusives so far, such as Halo, Assassins creed, etc.

1. As dragon said, specs don't mean anything if you don't have the games to go with it. And the PS3 just doesn't have the games. The PS3 only has a couple games out or in the works that I would want, but thier games I could live without. The Wii only has two games I'd buy, SSBB and LoZ. While the 360 has tons of games I would consider buying. [Halo, CoD, Assassins creed, Rainbow Six, Condemned, etc.]

I'm not saying the PS3 is a bad console, if someone handed me a PS3 I would take it and go buy some games. But right now the 360 is my favorite of the next gen consoles. If the PS3 gets some new games, I'll probably change my mind

Wii is better in my opinion. I'm not spending over 500 dollars for a console that plays some okay games, and games I can play on a console about 1/4th the price of a ps3, plays an overpriced dvd with "better features" that I frankly don't give a shit about, has a network, exclusives, and awesome design and specs just like wii and 360.

Personally, due to amazing gameplay, awesome games, opera, and access to nearly every nintendo game made, I'll stick with the Wii for my Video Game entertainment.

I would like a console in my console. Not a dvd player.

EDIT: BY THE WAY! I don't give two shits about graphics. It may make some of you gamers super horny, but I care about how it's played. Mario and Castlevania beat any cookie cutter shooter I see today when I am looking to sit down and have a game to play.

Pc gamers have proven to normally have a higher IQ than console gamers.

The IQ's for the consoles (In descending order) are as follows:

Wii
PS3/Xbox 360. It's a very slim margin, so I put them together.

PC RTS gamers normally have higher IQ's than PC FPS or RPG gamers, too.
