Don't ask me what type of dinosaur it is, it's completely made up and all you need to know is that it eats the baby ducklings in your backyard.
Anyway, I made this a few days ago, and thought I would put it up here. First time actually drawing one of these things so....CnC? (I think that's what you call it lol)

Fucking awesome, I love it. The snout and tail could be a little longer, but maybe that's just me.

I like dinosaurs a lot, this is no exception, it looks amazing, like a T-Rex bird cross of sorts

a few things to note: that right arm looks a tad bit smaller than the left arm, and his right leg looks distorted and looks as if he's not standing on flat ground (also whats that..bump near his tall .-. (I'm going to assume that's his groin area?)

great job though

Thanks! I had a little trouble with the size of the head, but I need to pick up some reference pics for that. And I honestly tried to do a little perspective on the tail(still failing at perspective on the computer unfortunately) But again, thank you!!

Oh gosh thank goodness I wasn't the only one who noticed the arms and legs. When I finished it and looked back, I couldn't help but slap myself. Ugh I hate it but the overall picture makes up for it!

Oh! And the bump is generally the groin area. Somewhat. I have no educational knowledge on their anatomy, but I know for sure that when I see a photo or video there is always a lumpy flap of..skin/fat(?) in that area.

Anyway, thank you so much for your input, and I'm glad you like it! C:

Thanks! xD And if he does, that would result in me turning myself in to the authorities for making such an abomination. Think of the people he could grab! Or the ducklings..

And...it all goes back to anatomy.

I'm no expert on dinosaurs, but even then i can see plenty mistakes that make the overall picture look a little less than desirable

-the neck is fused with it's right shoulder
-the left arm seems to have been folded over itself.
-neither the 'toes' or 'fingers' look like what they're supposed to be.
-foreshortening were foreshortening should be is incredibly mucked up.
-utter wreck of perspective. Where is each body part facing? I find it impossible to tell at times. One glaring example is the angle of the legs. The way they are placed and angled, is that really possible?

Keep in mind that i have little clue as to the anatomy of a dinosaur, so i cannot give a more detailed explanation, but it seems clear that you know as much as I do on the matter. Have you studied a T-Rex's(the dinosaur i assume it's based on) skeleton at all? If not, then that probably explains just about every mistake you've made.

Awesome work! I really like the feathers or almost furriness of parts of the dinosaur. I think you did a great job on the eye too~.
Pretty sure i can't really go anymore in depth about the picture than Lobotomizer just did, but there were a few things that stuck out to me immediately when I saw the pic.
The first thing that sort of confused me were all of the erm. claws? I guess? Fingers? Toes? I dunno.
After that I saw the legs and the way the legs were positioned and the directions they were facing seemed like a pretty awkward position for a dinosaur to be in, if at all possible. I'm not a dinosaur though, so I can't say it'd be uncomfortable.
The way that the lower abdomen is drawn compared to how the tail looks, it doesn't seem to flow the way it should.

You know, thank you for your critique especially. This is probably one of the best one's I have received. So thanks! So, to answer your one question: No, in a sense, I did not at all study the anatomy of the T-rex, or any other dinosaur. What I usually do when I draw a animal I'm not familiar with, is find a decent picture of said animal, take a glance or two, then draw. I do most of my drawings by memory, but I'm not afraid to get a reference when needed.

I'm definitely aware of many mistakes, and I'm actually surprised no one mentioned anything about the skull! I looked back and realized the jawline is structured differently.

And I am terrible at perspective when it comes to drawing on the computer, yet I am good at it with pencil. Ugh-
Also, (just because I'm all into animals and crap and actually take the time to study them) the posture/pose is indeed actually achievable, and is common among a lot of animals today. I did a quick little research when I read your post, and I'm familiar with most animals and their similar postures. If I was better at perspective, it probably would have looked a lot more...natural.

Anyway, I'm actually redoing Mr.Dinosaur here. Keep in mind that he's made up and there are MANY different types of "T-rex". And just to add(probably should have done this at the very being of the thread) this is a "sketch" drawing. So parts of the drawing may appear disfigured to a viewer, but to the artist it'll look exactly as they depicted it to be, so hopefully nothing looks to be out of the ordinary! xD

Again, thanks for the advice. I've already started looking back and fixing things(in a new drawing) and your critique is GREATLY appreciated!! Sorry if I seem to..."go against" your critique. Sometimes I come off as someone who doesn't like criticism, but I really like the one you gave me. Gosh, I rant too much...x3
