Looks like things are finally looking up for this project. Should we be talking about --dare I say-- a small demo soon? Soon meaning sometime maybe by the end of this year or beginning of the next? (Lotta programming to be done, so it seems about like that...) Hopefully, I will have a new laptop by the end of August. Won't have to use the school-issued mac to emulate windows to animate. Which means I can start working on an over-the-top trailer, among other game elements with ease...

Good thing ! Let's do this then ! I gotta finish on character sprite sheet and one monster. So we can start to do dis game. Zultin's monster design is really nice ! He's muddafackin hired ! Good. A new computer. I say a demo must be there in two months. We need a Background creator, DarkFalcon will do like ten weapons or more and then we'll launch the project forward. The demo should bring some CnC to correct our final result positively.

Let's get working !

Remember this is not a 2D bg. It is isometrical bg, view from 45 degrees above the character. Type in google DiabloII or DiabloIII and search a screendhot if you don't understand.

Not bad. The torches are a nice touch, and the cauldron. Come to think of it, that slight mist really gives it a Diablo feel. The color scheme looks perfect for a desert area, like Lut Gholein. A small improvement would be to add a door to the small area that forks away from the main chamber, and move the torch at the back of that a little closer, so that the door would be easier to place. I feel like that could be an entry/exit point for that cave. I think we have our first dungeon coming to life. Since we hope for a demo in the next couple months, we should PM between Ikarhan, Zultin, Dark Falcon, You, and I to decide on how this demo should be put together. I'm thinking we do the Tutorial levels and use that as the demo.

To Dark and Ikarhan, that means the Tristram idea I had. With the first boss battle (which concludes the tutorial, and begins the current timeline. Much to discuss, since I want players to get a feel for the post-Diablo 3 timeline that they will be playing in.)

I hereby welcome you as our new Environment Designer.

well thanks. i honestly thought that i failed pretty badly on this bg since this is my first isometrical bg/45 degrees angle bg. the cauldrons, torches, and other stuff were pretty rushed and i could of done better. ill try to improve this bg, expect it to be done by friday or sooner since im pretty busy with other collabs. can you guys post some suggestions to what to add because i feel it somewhat empty and is missing something(lava?).

edit: my bg looks like a pikachu

I like the detail on that wall. You should definitely use it for a building or something. Now, the first bg for the demo will need to be Tristram. Take a look at images from Diablo 1 to get an idea of where the buildings should go (The cinematic part of the tutorial level involves Deckard Cain's voice telling the tale of Tristram.) and go on from there.

This is a really good idea. Best of luck. I may participate in some environmental design when I get a new tablet, but that won't be for some time.
