You know how many of us know the brand name "Wacom" and etc.? You know how many of us would use an Intuos or a Bamboo Pen & Touch? Well, there are other people who wants a tablet of their own. But, are their other brand names other than Wacom?

Well, I have one tablet that isn't really Wacom. I don't quite remember the name nor do I have that tablet at the moment since I'm in school. But, it works great and is really comfortable. I'll be sure to add it in here once I get home.

There's also 3 LED tablets that are completely affordable and are a great alternative for those who plan on getting a Cintiq. They're called BOSTO Kingtee.

These tablets come in two size : 14" and 19". There are two 19" displays : one is named "MA" and the other "MB". The difference is that MB is slightly lighter and does not have the buttons and roller. But, the design is so much more sleeker.

If you guys know any other brand names that can also be great alternatives, feel free to post them here. ^^

...those graphics tablets are "as low as $699". Considering this site's demographics, buying one would be a massive expense for virtually everyone here. Hell, I work full-time and even I wouldn't call $700 "completely affordable", for a student with a part-time job that's a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a hobby, especially if they'll never make any money off of it.

Wacom might be the most well-known brand when it comes to tablets, but they're far from the only one. It's not difficult to go to Newegg or Amazon and look around their dedicated Graphics Tablet sections and read the descriptions/reviews on the ones you can afford. Brand recognition should be the last thing anyone gives a shit about.

I like to think that, in the tablet market specifically, Wacom is the leading producer for a good reason. Their product is stable and will last while most other products look like they have less quality. I have not tried out every brand, but from reviews and the specifications listed, the price is proportional to the quality. My Intuos 3 lasted for more than four years and I still use it.

What I love brand recognition. That's like wearing a polo shirt, people get an insight on the person by noticing the logo. I like to hold a sense of professionalism and that I strive to be the best, which is why I'd prefer the know best over the not so known. It's different for many things but you really can't go wrong with wacom.
