The movements seemed forced. By this I mean there appeared to be no gravity applied to the figure and they didn't actually move the body, instead just kinda happened. Try adding more frames between keyframes and think in terms of force events that are happening to the character (gravity, muscle movement). As for the effects, add some alpha effects and particles that come off the beam. Sorry if this is very blunt, its just how I am :/

Your little brother is very handsome.
I'll point some flaws out.
Red:
The red stick figure is wobbly. Try keep the movements consistant.
When he's punched up into the air, it lacks easing. I suggest you practice the "Ball exercise" to fix this
The getting up was okay but it's also a bit wobbly.
The particles aren't my stronghold, but I'd suggest not sizing down the cloud like you did, but dissipating it out by making the particles thinner until invisible.
Blue:
Also wobbly.
Try anticipation before hitting.
I'd suggest you review easing.
It's not bad, but it's not the best.
Keep trying, bro.

You need to majorly work on poses, easing, gravity, and wobbliness. Keep practicing movements and test jumps and make them as smooth as possible. Then move on to fights, otherwise you will struggle to make it smooth. Just practice easing and gravity tests. Keep at it bro.

Quote from Arch-AngelRust is just another word for lazy :/
Not necessarily, perhaps in this case I can see how that applies, but not always.

I haven't animated in months to a year and my rhg is pro status :/
Regardless. I can't view the animation until tomorrow so if love to leave a good critique. For tomorrow's animation of the day you should animate one character doing several movements and make it at least fifteen seconds of animation. It would take me two hours. Focus on resizing, movements, fluidity, and easing.
